Cloudy brown yellow. Cloves, wheat, banana bread, and dryness. A dark yeast sediment pocket at the bottom with a lively carbonation. Hacker-Pshorr is one of Germany’s finest.

Draught at Smokeless Joe. Very hazy golden-brown colour with a moderate head. Aroma is yeasty with notes of clove and a slightly soapy quality. Flavour is bang on for the style - notes of banana, clove, sweet malt & yeast. Mouthfeel is light, and the finish is quite short. Not my favourite, but not too bad.

Bottle. Pours a slightly cloudy medium brown with orange highlights. Big, fluffy off-white head that lasts all the way down. Mildly spicey aroma with a hint of clove. Slightly sweet initial taste against a good malty base. Yes, there’s a hint of clove in the background. Flavors were more sublte than I had expected but it’s still a nice, smooth beer. Wish I had another.

Bottle. Pours a cloudy orange amber with a nice thick white head. Fruity banana clove esters in the aroma. Flavor of fruit candy, banana, clove, dark wheat malt, and caramel. Sweet and refreshing finish. A nicely done Dunkle.
