Aroma is fragrant... floral, yeasty, and a bit of sweetness. Flavor is yeast, a little sugary sweetness, and spice.

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jul 7, 2008 Hazy, deep amber appearance with a fairly large, off white head and modest lacing. Yeasty aroma complimented by caramel malt, banana and spices. Fruity, moderately sweet, earthy taste, well carbonated, with the smoothness that is typically associated with wheaty brews. Just a hint of sourness in the aftertaste. subcell (95), Portsmouth, Virginia, USA

This one still gived you the clove and banana taste but you get something extra.... A good caramel malt flavor and some of the hop bitterness. This is good stuff. dalepryor (172), Paducah, Kentucky, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 11/20 | Jun 19, 2008 brown pour with average beige head, very sweet candy-like aroma and of course wheat, the flavor slightly burnt sweetness with spice and banana showing up front overall very smooth though. beerinmarch (2829), Washington, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jun 14, 2008 On tap, pours dark brown/copper with a soft white head. Not much clove or sweetness up front, more along the hefe side with heavy banana flavor, heavy wheat, thick body. Very enjoyable beer, but very mild in the dunkle character. | 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jun 12, 2008 Bottled, Der Pschorr, Munich. Right, I didn’t want or order this, but I’m glad I did because it’s a beauty. Muddy orange pour heaped with thick pillows of froth. Ravishing snout with banana, pepper, clove, slightly farty malt nuttiness. That’s at least an 8. Palate milky but prickling with spritz. Ripe banana rolled in white pepper and almond. BOTTSF? A swill of clovey mouthwashy spice. Edging towards dunkelweizen perfection. jdp (54), Texas, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Apr 30, 2008 Draft at the Flying Saucer in San Antonio. Pour is a medium brown with a light white head. Smell is slightly spicy, slight sweet. Taste is smooth malt, light, not too sweet, a bit off burnt malt taste and no speakable hop flavor. Not bad but seemed better when I lived in Germany. kidmartinek (991), austin, Texas, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Apr 12, 2008 Called "dark wheat" on the bottle. Pours cloudy "brown" brown. Well behaved pour, 3/4" off-white head. Smells like dark wheat malt, and very bitter hops. I was expecting this one to taste a little overbearing like most dunkelweizens, but was pleasantly surprised when it came up tasting more like a hefeweisebier hell. The flavor is light and refreshing and of good quality wheat malt, slight banana, vanilla, and citrus notes. It’s starts with a lot of carbonation and smooths out as it goes down. Pleasant, clean finish.
