Hacker-Pschorr (Hefe) Weisse

The smell tingles my nose, smells like a weiss beer, perfect smell. Reminds me of Germany. The color is very cloudy golden bronze, light head very good taste; not quite excellent. Very thick yeast and wheat taste, very good tingles the palate, citrus fruity Very Good, definitely a must buy (NOTE: rated on 11-11-2008)

I scooped up a bottle of this at the local beer store. Aroma of citrus and clove. Poured a slightly hazy translucent golden color with great lacing and head retention. The flavor, which is the most important part, however wasn’t near as good. Slight notes of banana, yeast, and wheat, but is watered down way too much. This is a decent hefeweizen, and there are way better ones out there.

Golden pour with white head. I am not big on wheat beers, but I do like this one.

Pours a milky-golden color (almost bright orange) with a creamy white head. Decent retention and lacing. Strong citrus aroma with a hint of bubble-gum and spice. Unfortunately, the taste didn’t "sing" and was fairly unremarkable. Decent mouthfeel, with a slightly spicy finish.

500mL bottle - pours an opaque golden/orange colour with a quickly-dissipating bubbly head. Aroma is lemon, banana and yeast. Taste is similar, with a solid spice. Very clean and easy to drink. Great wheat beer.

500ml Bottle. 5.5%. Pours a hazy, golden orange colour with a frothy, bubbly white head that fades fairly quickly to a foamy ring. Aroma is lemon, banana, and a yeasty kick. Taste is very much a bready, banana flavour with a very spicy hint in the mouthfeel, coriander for sure, maybe mild ginger. Mouthfeel is clean and superb however. Delicious.

Hefes are mostly "as expected" and this one is not an exception although very fulfulling and top notch quality. The smell is of banana, lemon, and wheat. The taste also has notes of sour apples along with the bread, citrus, and banana. The mouthfeel is very creamy and satisfying. If this was the only hefe I could every drink for the rest of my life.....I’d be o.k. with that.

(Bottle, Stockholm Beer Festival, 26 Sep 2009) Cloudy pale amber colour with frothy, off-white head. Fruity, malty nose with citrus, banana and slightly sourish wheat hints. Fruity, wheaty taste with notes of citrus, banana and clove. Sweet-and-sour wheat character. Medium body, some sweetness. Refreshing and decent hefeweizen. Very much in line with what was expected.
