Super clear bright and solid whitened gold color with some softly effervesced bubbles making there up thru the bright gold body. Slimming but strong, starchy white capping of foam creates a quick top to then leave a trace skim and a thin collar. Lacing is drippy with a few spots sticking and a couple casts of sporatic blobs.
Wonderfully clean, crisp, and brightly sweet with a fresh berry scent with a slight underscoring of cystal malt grain, trace hop leaf, and a pinch of soft lemon air.
Flavors are quite solid, a well deserving showcase for the style. Well tendered sweetness is clean, crisp, very well-rounded; berryish tone mixed with a stint of bread dough sweetness, no crusts please, and a nice touch and pulse of real grain goodness that lasts very well across the palate. Slight starchy dry finish with bready leftovers, airy lemon, and a puff of leafy hops. A nearly perfect taster for the style.
Body is just shy of medium, but the length is outstanding and actually seemd to gain a bready girth as it goes. Outstanding! The crispness is set forth with a gleem of short rounded snappyness. Then the sweetness rolls in from a malt load of fun twisted berry breads and lemon puff chewy cookies.
Delish!! A near perfect Helles Lager if there ever was one. Drinkable? You bet it is. Unwholly drinkable really. Yummy, yum, yum!

Dec 23, 2009 Not comparable to an American Lager. Citrussy and light. Very drinkable. But when I think German Beer, this one was pretty weak.

Dec 15, 2009 Pours a very light yellow with almost no head at all. Aroma is of wet hay. Taste is thin and lacking complexity. Grassy hops, slightly lemony with a tart finish and very little malt backing. This is a passable German helles but by no means the best I’ve ever had.

Dec 12, 2009 In bottle; good solid lager. I find this beer very easy drinking and keep it as a stable in my beer fridge year round. As well, when shared with friends, they seem to quite enjoy it.

Dec 10, 2009 Yellow-gold brew with fine and frothy white cap, dissipates gradually with good lacing. Aroma is lemon-zest hops, granny-smith apples and a touch of pale bready malt. Flavor is sweet and grassy with a hint of tartness, subacid fruits and bitter grass. Palate is crisp and clean with a pleasant and consistent effervescence. A solid helles from a great German brewery.

Dec 5, 2009 Pours a hazy gold - small, soapy lace - aroma of grassy, noble hops, moderate honey sweetness, clean maltiness, moderate bread/yeast - clean, crisp, herbal, moderately bitter - just a touch of sweetness - moderate yeasty flavor - a tiny bit of tartness late - dry, herbal hops come back around for the finish - fairly clean and refreshing, but not up there with the best of the style.

Nov 27, 2009 An okay beer. very little aroma besides slight skunky hops and grass. Pour is golden and clear with a medium sized white-ish head. Sweet and light with a slight sourness. Light bodied and very fizzy with very little finish. Overall, okay.
