Dark in color, malty nose, generous flavor; yet with a clean, hoppy finish, Hacker-Pschorr Alt Munich Dark is the essence of dark beers.

Tap. Toffee malt, cherry, and grass hops aroma. Dark brown color with moderate head. Creamy chocolate malt flavor with moderate grass hops finish. A tasty beer - pretty unusual for a dunkel to have this much hops flavor - would be just about perfect if it had more body.

Bottle 50cl. w. swing top @ home.
Clear medium to dark amber color with a large, frothy to creamy, good lacing, mostly lasting, light beige head. Aroma is moderate malty, bread, caramael, light nutty. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20090817]

Brown with red glimts and a huge beige head. Aroma had roasted malt, caramel and hints of chocolate. Flavour was sweet and had notes of caramel, bread, caramel and mild chocolate. Finished sweet.

Bottle, bought @ Ambrosetti, Berlin.
Pours clear red brown with a small, fizzy head that soon disappears. Aroma has some slight cellar notes, rye bread, raisins and light roasted notes. Medium carbonation, fine and light mouthfeel. Flavour is dry, softly roasted, rye bread and a good, elegant hoppiness. Long, lingering aftertaste with dark chocolate and mild roasted notes. Fine.

The bottle looks good, the beer in the glass is darker than exspected. Nice creamy head. Starts malty-moldy, a bit smoky. Finish gets more and more sourish, still moldy and mushy. Not my favourite.

Swing Top bottle. As a fan of dark lagers I got stuck into this. I dived right into the glass and then found it a bit shallow.Basicaly ,as I swam in this beer I found dry chocolate.Eartiness and chewey caramel.Lacking guts ,while still being very plesant.
