Commercial Description:
Dark in color, malty nose, generous flavor; yet with a clean, hoppy finish, Hacker-Pschorr Alt Munich Dark is the essence of dark beers.

Pours a medium brown color with about half an inch of foam. Moderate head retention, spotty lacing. Sweetish aroma of caramel malt and a touch of honey. Tasty beer, with chocolate and caramel malt, nicely balanced with a moderate hop presence. A little drier in the finish, with a slightly more pronounced hop tang. Not quite medium body, good carbonation.

(bottle) Clear, mahogany colour with a fluffy beige, slowly lacing foamy head. Sweet, toast-malty, bready aroma with herbal hops. Dark-malty, toasty taste on a herbal background, medium to light bodied, almost crispy mouthfeel; dry, malty finish with balanced bitter hops.

Very light on in flavour for a dunkel. Watery and thin with a bit of licorice maybe, not much character.

From bottle(would love to try on tap) Pours a dark copper color . Decent head retention. Malty aroma with a roasted/burned malt flavor, a small hint of hoppyness was present. A good beer

I liked this one. It pours nice brown with thick off-white head. Full flavor and thick, creamy body. Has nice malty scent, thick chewy malt flavor, a touch of caramel sweetness, and a balancing slighty dry finish with a drop of cinnamon spicyness. Very beautiful lager, satisfying, yet highly drinkable.

Pours light amber with a medium fluffy off-white head. Aroma of caramel, toffee, and phenols. Taste is dry, yeasty, with fruity and phenolic notes. Mouthfeel is thin to medium bodied with lush carbonation. Thin, a bit 1-dimensional and boring.

Wildenseehütte Mittenwald. Bottle. Caramelly sweet flavor, yet with some firm bitterness. Bready and malty. Firm nutty bitter aftertaste. Fairly well made. (5 3 6 3 12 = 2.9) Re-rate @home: swing top bottle. Dark brown color. malty aroma with chocolate cake. Malty sweet flavor with caramel and chocolate. Just a tad on the thin side. Sweet but likeable and well balanced.
