mikey (323), farmington, Utah, USA Feb 15, 2007 Poured a dark golden hue with a head of foamy ivory that quickly dissapeared. The nose was of toasted malt and a floral/fruity hoppiness. The tatse starts with sweet malts, dark breads and some hints of toffee. Mild to medium bitters come next offsetting the malts. Tastes sweet, bitter, dry, malty and hoppy all at once. The finish was nutty, smooth and mildly bitter. The feel was moderate due to medium to low carbonation. This was a great session beer, and would do just as well in a large stein. A smooth, simple, malty beer, that’s great anytime. stubby (316), Santee, California, USA Sep 30, 2006 Let me start by saying that oktoberfest might be my favorite lager style. My opinion is biased. I like the toasty aroma of this one. Probably less bittering hops than some, making for a smooth quaffability that I find hard to resist. Fantastic with pizza. Slipstream (482), USA Jan 22, 2008 On tap at a German restaurant. A very nice lager! Full-flavored with the right amount of bitterness. Refreshing. The beer I ordered was simply called Hacker-Pschorr lager, so I assume this is the same stuff. fluffy (93), Florida, USA Sep 6, 2008 pours amber with decent fine bubbled head. nicely malted with light caramel flavor and a decent bitterness on the tounge. recommended as a good quality oktoberfest. Parrothead (169), Ephrata, Pennsylvania, USA Nov 11, 2007 12oz bottle. Pours with a big billowy head, but it doesn’t last. Not much aroma, maybe too cold. Beautiful caramel/orange. Smooth, well balanced. A very, very good beer.
