The alcohol stands out a bit, perhaps it is because of the combination with a hop flavour that is a little harsh. Mild carbonation, which I like. Good mouthfeel. Sweet aromas of prune, raisins and a light floral background. The flavor found sweet malts with a light fruit undertone. Medium body and smooth. NYHarvey (2154), New York, New York, USA

Smooth and buttery in texture while remaining thinnish. Malty tones carry all the way through. frankenkitty (1903), Oak Lawn, Illinois, USA

A clear orange-bodied brew with a creamy, splotchy-tan head that turned chunky before dissipating. Malted aroma was bready with caramel, and the flavor was rather bittersweet... ending on the sweet side. A small hint of spiciness in the finish, but tasted like a typical dunkel.

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Apr 3, 2005 This beer pours a clear amber color with an active carbonation tornado in the center of my glass. The head was thin and soapy with a thin white layer of lacing left on the side of my glass. The aroma is was citrusy, malty and somewhat apple juice-like. Hints of apricot and candy sugar in the nose. The flavor is medium bodied, mildly carbonated, and filled with apricot sweetnesses and malt. Some lingering malt in the aftertaste...not so dry but definitely carbonated. Not as syrupy as other marzen’s i have tried, so that was definitely a plus. Really sweet, not so cloying though, aftertaste...very pleasing, too bad it lacked character in mid taste.
