500mL bottle (Mar 08 bottling). Head is initially average sized, frothy, off-white, mostly lasting. Body is hazy medium amber, bottle conditioned. Aroma is lightly to moderately malty (toasted bread, cookie), lightly yeasty (cobwebs), with a note of banana, light notes of clove and peach. Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly to moderately acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, lightly to moderately acidic, lightly to moderately bitter. Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. Clearly an Ur-Weisse, for those who care about such things. A good one at that, but a little short of exciting.

Pours a murky pinkish/brown with a lovely large creamy off-white foam on top. Rich malty aroma, lots of esters and spice. Despite the strong aroma/color this is actually a very light hefe. Some rich caramel malt, lots of fruit, banana, apple, strawberry, lightly nutty/brown sugar flavors. Slightly metallic finish with a bit of clove. The fruitiness of this hefe is really its unique point. Light body with medium, but finer fluffy, carbonation. Very close to banana’s foster.

From a bottle poured a amber color with a small head. Nice light malty flavor with a quick finish.

Wheat and banana aroma. Low carbonation. Thick and sweet, true to style. I really like the thick and heavy palate. Standard flavor and aroma, but a little better than most.

Bottle. A slightly hazy, yeast-cloudy golden-orange beer with a dense, beige head. Banana-fruity-sweet aroma with caramel and cloves in the back. Sweet, fruity flavor with banana and some citrus. Caramel and cloves too. A bit thin, sweet yet dry in the mouth. Cloves, banana and some pale malt and citrus in the finish. A pleasant weissbier, maybe deserving a higher rating. Good drinkability. 50cl bottle: Pours a cloudy light copper bronze with a frothy, creamy, spotty-lacing white head. Authentic aroma of sweet malted wheat and banana fruity esters with a touch of clove spice and bready Bavarian yeast. Body starts with good fullness and carbonation with a decent sweet malted wheaty flavor throughout, balanced with drier clove spice and doughy yeastiness. Seems to have a touch more darker toasty caramel notes than a typical hefeweizen and could use maybe a little more sweetness, but still a pretty nice beer.

500 ml swingtop pours a dirty orange/gold body with a generous offwhite head. Aroma of banana, clove, wheat, and faint lemon. Creamy body with average carbonation. Taste has a clove and coriander spiciness, complimented by prominent banana, faint orange, bready wheat, and yeast. Cinnamon notes emerge as it warms. A good hefe.

Cloudy dark brown with thick white head. Banana, yeast, spices, funk, sweetness. Smells funky too. This was decent.
