Bottle; purchased mostly because of the cool looking body. Poured a very dark color for the style; a muddy caramel color with a big fluffy head. Aroma of bread, cola and cocoa; fresh and clean. Flavor was malty and sweet with some vanilla and banana. A bit of light alcohol flavor as well. Very good stuff here.

500 mL swingtop bottle. Pours a surprisingly dark brownish amber color, with a solid creamy off-white head. Aroma is sweet and bready, with some light cloviness but a more prominent spicy note of cinnamon. There’s some requisite banana but it’s unripe and not too forward. Flavor is similar with some darker, homemade bread notes accented by vanilla banana smoothie sweetness. Pretty nice but the finish vanishes in a sort of watery way. Mouthfeel is alright, carbonation is a little coarse. This is more of a dunkelweizen I’d say. Pretty solid.

One of Munich’s first wheat beers. This unique honey golden beer is brewed according to a traditional recipe using the greatest care, technical skill, premium ingredients and in accordance with the Rhienheitsgebot (Purity Law) of 1516. This beer has a slightly hazy dark orange hue when poured. The aroma is a bit yeasty much like that of dark bread with notes of citrus, banana and herbs that fill your nose. Hacker-Pschorr Sternweisse’s taste opens with a malt, yeast and clove spiciness with sweet banana flavor and and orange notes quickly follow. As the beer warms some find hints of cinnamon and other baking spices begin to creep out. The swing top bottle first developed in 1877 and was released in 2002 shows a commitment to brewing tradition and expertise. The swing top bottle conveys a sensation of freshness when opening the bottle for the first time, it also makes the fresh and authentic beer flavor last even longer.

A slightly more maltier weisse beer than the hefe. The brew has a dark copper color with a slightly cloudy hue. A good brew but I wanted better.

Pours a dark hazy golden color with a nice thick white head. Lacing is descent. Smells of banana, clove, and malt. Taste is strong of orange and clove with a creamy mouthfeel. Good hop mix with a breadlike taste. This is a full bodied beer.

Hazy amber with an off white head. Dark pumpernickel toast aroma with mild banana. Smooth banana nut bread malty flavors with a lingering mild sweetness to finish. Very nice hot weather brew.

In the bottle from HyVee CB. Pours a fantastic hazy and cloudy dark brown with a thick off white head. Intense banana aromas and a great malty caramel flavor with a thin acid-like tartness to the finish.

The bottle looks really good, the beer in the glass also. Starts strong-malty, fine yeasty, notes of cinnamon and nuts. Well balanced finish, fine yeasty. Very good beer!
