zach8270 (2051), Henrietta, New York, USA Jan 24, 2009 (bottle - 500 ml flip-top) Hazy amber pour with a thick white head. Aroma is rich and spicy with lots of wheat, banana, and cloves. Flavor is very grainy at the start with a mixture of applesauce, wheat, bananas, and cloves. Finishes quickly and leaves a slight sweetness on the palate. Flavor is slightly disappointing. BeerBaron617 (306), Novi, Michigan, USA Jan 24, 2009 I got this as part of my pick six for the week. I also got it kind of on a whim, just hoping it would be a good beer. Well, I was wrong. This pours a darker hazy amber with a fluffy white head. The aroma outdoes the flavor, which is of subtle banana notes, and some yeast on the finish. This beer was definitely a dissapointment. Now I just have the other five to look forward too. Cheers! KAggie97 (2406), Ugly, Hot, and Humid Spring, Texas, USA Jan 17, 2009 Flip-cap bottle. Pours a nice cheddar orange with a frothy head of white. Aroma is copperized banana and clove. Flavor is vegetable garbage with clove, almost as if one bought the beer version of a designer knock-off; in this case it’s the knock-off version of a good German hefeweizen. Average mouthfeel. Barf. alexsdad06 (1056), Ohio, USA Jan 6, 2009 500 ml flip top bottle. Pours a cloudy amber brown with a small but dense white head. The aroma is moderately sweet wheat, pale malt, light fruit, and a hint of cloves. The flavor has pale malt, yeast, banana, light spice, and a touch of citrus. A slight amount of bitterness in the finish. Fairly easy to drink, sessionable. Dorwart (1807), Robbinsville, New Jersey, USA Dec 30, 2008 Thin head of fine off-white bubbles. Muddy, dirty looking water. Kind of looks like a watery apple cider. Decaying wheat, grass, yeast, cloves and soft malts. Flavor is pretty much the same. Bit of sickly sweetness and vegetal flavors also. Lots of chewey wheat and sugary malts. Bit of brown sugar flavors. Finishes sickly sweet and clovey. Some graininess also. bluevegie (2169), Perth, Australia Dec 28, 2008 A bit murky, dark straw coloured body with good size white head. Soft nose but not muted, cloves outshades the banana. Taste is much the same though a touch watery. Sammy (3934), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Dec 27, 2008 A very decent beer, drinkable, though nothing too memorable. The carbonation and wheat is on the tongue and works with supper. The wheat aroma is there. Not too heady. Fairly fresh from Cleveland. harrisoni (6703), Ashford, Kent, England Dec 27, 2008 500ml bottle from GBBF. Murky cloudy muddy orange brown. Thick beige head. Very carbonated. Banana and malt aroma. Just the right cereal, banana, toffee balance in mouth. Tingling tongue finish. I quite like it, but i guess it is reasonably bland.
