Light amber color; quite hazy, with multifinger beige head. Aroma of wheat, spice and citrus. Medium body with mild, creamy carbonation. Flavor is mildly spice, dark wheat with hints of citrus and light banana. Finishes mildly banana and lightly spicey. better than the average.

500ml bottle-pours a rich off white head that laces and amber/copper color. Aroma is banana, wheat-caramel, clove/spice. Taste is banana, wheat/light-medium malt-caramel, clove/spice. Nice, smooth/creamy mouth feel with mild effervescence. The individual rating components were higher than the total package/beer. Thanks jwc215 for picking this out.

The star pours a cloudy sandy brown, with hints of russet. The head is just-off-white, creamy, and lasts. The nose is quite strong of fresh bananas, with notes of cloves and spices and a hint of caramel. As the beer pours towards your tongue you feel a rush of banana and caramel, and when it hits are notes of biscuits and malt. There is a light sweetness, accented by the fact that this is not nearly as effervescent as most German hefeweisse beers. Playful, fruity, and quite drinkable. This would be a great summer beer. Too bad it’s cold and wet out now. By the way, I love this label.

10/22/2008: Hacker-Pschorr Sternweisse has a cloudy, deep amber-gold color with a surprisingly dense and puffy white head. The aroma presents some wheat malt, yeast, and a light spiciness. The flavor is dry with some undertones of smoke (beechwood), banana, and clove with a good level of yeast training behind and a splash of lemon. The body is light and moderately carbonated, but refreshing overall. In the hierarchy of hefes, I would put this somewhere between a regular hefe and a dunkelweizen as there is a bit more malt, yet it is dry in the mid-palate. Overall this is an intriguing wheat beer that is very flavorable and definitely worth drinking time and time again - especially during the Summer months...

Bottle from River’s Bend. Pours a hazy brown color with a large frothy off-white head that mostly lasted with excellent lacing. Good wheat, clove and banana aroma. Medium body with a sticky texture and soft carbonation. Medium well balanced spicy flavor with a medium sweet finish of moderate duration. Good drinkable beer.

Pours a cloudy bright golden colour with an orange tint and a huge creamy white head. Taste is creamy, with plenty of tropical fruits. Aroma is sweet, pleasent with citrus and spice notes, noticeable orange, pineapple and coriander and bannana.

Thick, apricot colored body with tawny edges. Aroma of bread dough and bubble gum. Enjoyable mix of flavors, which include bread, yeast, spice and wheat.
