10/22/2008: Hacker-Pschorr Sternweisse has a cloudy, deep amber-gold color with a surprisingly dense and puffy white head. The aroma presents some wheat malt, yeast, and a light spiciness. The flavor is dry with some undertones of smoke (beechwood), banana, and clove with a good level of yeast training behind and a splash of lemon. The body is light and moderately carbonated, but refreshing overall. In the hierarchy of hefes, I would put this somewhere between a regular hefe and a dunkelweizen as there is a bit more malt, yet it is dry in the mid-palate. Overall this is an intriguing wheat beer that is very flavorable and definitely worth drinking time and time again - especially during the Summer months...

A bit murky, dark straw coloured body with good size white head. Soft nose but not muted, cloves outshades the banana. Taste is much the same though a touch watery.

(bottle - 500 ml flip-top) Hazy amber pour with a thick white head. Aroma is rich and spicy with lots of wheat, banana, and cloves. Flavor is very grainy at the start with a mixture of applesauce, wheat, bananas, and cloves. Finishes quickly and leaves a slight sweetness on the palate. Flavor is slightly disappointing.

Pours a cloudy bright golden colour with an orange tint and a huge creamy white head. Taste is creamy, with plenty of tropical fruits. Aroma is sweet, pleasent with citrus and spice notes, noticeable orange, pineapple and coriander and bannana.

500ml flip top bottle: poured hazy orange with a big off white head. Mild banana nose with slight hops. Flavor is light wheat and yeast with a bit of banana and slight spice. Somewhat dry and moderately bitter finish. Kind of watery also. Decent but there are better weizens.

Bottle from Germany. Beautiful, hazy and glowing caramel-orange in color with a fluffy, sudsy, orange-tinted head reaching up about an inch. Deliciousness abounds in the aroma: orange crème, nectar messages, cloves, vanilla, bananas and peppery ordeals. Flavor keeps it going. The clover scratch gives a peppery dryness while the orange peel and clementine rind impart a citric sentiment. The summertime honeycomb/nectar trait lends much by means of character and individuality, eventually evolving into a lemon-banana poppy seed muffin motif. Creamy, dry sprits with a slightly spiced flair. Bakery tunes of sweet rolls and banana cream pie graham cracker crust provide a gentle finish. A stand-out hefeweizen.
