Blinding golden. No head. Totally clear. This baby is Ug-ly. Kellog’s Corn Flakes. Syrupy mouthfeel. Like drinking plastic. Sweet, cloying, thin. Want to drink this one fast to get it over with and out of the way. Having said that, it is actually fresh and clean but it is marred by its very own spinelessness. It hides its alcohol well and is not so bad at what it does.

Light, clear yellow, no head. Very light flavor, very smooth, not bitter at all, has a minor floral taste.

Light gold. The head died in quite the hurry. The aroma shows assloads of corn, hints of continental hop, light acetaledehyde and a little bit of higher alcohol harshness. Rather watery on the palate, with some toasted corn and stewed vegetables. Very mild hop bitterness allows the finish to have a hint of dryness, which helps because otherwise it goes down a lot like fizzy corn syrup.

This isn’t horrible, but it also is not overly impressive. Sweet aroma of suger and over ripe (one step away from rotting) vegetables. Average yellow pour with weak head that runs away quickly. It doesn’t have that "thick" syrupy feel that most malt liquors have. The [almost] 7% ethanol is undetectable. No burn. In fact, for such a somewhat strong beer one could actualy slam this. Mine came in green bottles which is bad. It wasn’t skunky, but it was fighting the skunks. Just on the border of skunky, if you know what I mean. Not a great beer, but probably one of the better malt liquor styles on the market today. A tad over priced at $6.49 for a six pack. But to it’s credit the bottles are 16 ouncers. It’s not great, but I still recommend you give it a try. You might like it.

This was actually far less gross than I had expected. The adjunct flavor is present, but not overwhelming. I wish I had had access to this in college so I didn’t get stuck drinking Country Club all the time.

From can. I had to look back to see when the last time I rated a canned beer was, and it was another malt liquor - Amsterdam Explorator in October, 2004. Been a while, for sure. Soft sweet honey-grain aroma, with a light wisp of alcoholic vapor. Not much else going on in the nose, though it’s not skunky or odd. Pale golden clear body with visible carbonation, topped with a thin white lacing head. Medium-light watery body with medium carbonation, kind of dull. Starts rather sweet, with some grain or corn taste. Does have a mild pilsner malt quality to it, but ends up being a bit watery toward the end. Mild hop character, with some finish acidity, carbonic gaseousness, and a hint of alcohol sweetness. Does remind me of the European malt liquors, so the "..with the imported taste" on the label is true.

Bottle. Smalll white fizzy head that mostly diminished, spotty amounts of lacing, transparent, carbonation noted, and the hue was yellow. The aroma was malt, corn and sharp. The flavor was malt, corn, crisp and sharp tasting. Tingly mouthfeel and medium in body. Not much to say about this one other than I simply did not like the taste of it.Next!
