Big head on a light gold pour, and a decent label on the bomber bottle. Not a bad looking beer, really. Pretty raunchy cheap beer aroma. It tastes like what it is - convenience store malt licka. Pretty sugary with a slightly unpleasant tinge. Smooth on the tongue, with not a lot of carbonation or hop action. I wonder what the story of this brand is - was it once a good local Milwaukee brew? It is definitely not a good beer today, and not one of the better macros either. I would gladly have a Ballantine’s or a Colt 45 instead.

I was so excited to finally try this. The beer pours with a big frothy white head, I couldn’t believe my eyes when it actually produced lace and stuck around for most of the glass. Aroma is a little corny but you can certainly detect some hops in there as well. The flavor was about as delicious as it gets for a malt liquor, lightly fruity with distinct hoppy notes and of course some adjunct corny type of stuff. The mouth feel was creamy if a bit thin. I probably went out of my way to make this sound more delicious than what it really is, but I’m trying to accentuate the positive with this one, keep in mind that it is indeed malt liquor and there are a surprising number of pleasantries with this beer.

16 ounce bottle courtesy of DAKNOLE!!!!!!!& Yeah, DAKNOLE!!!! What the hell?!?!?!?!?!?!? Pours a pale yellow color with the thinnest of heads. No retention. No lacing. No nothing. Not too bad an aroma for a malt likka, with typical notes of corn and grass but also with some sawdust and peppery notes. Taste is graininess, corn, caramel, sawdust and light fruity notes. Thin bodied. Not too bad.

16oz green bottle from the local Hannaford. Pours a light yellow translucent body with a quarter inch or less of witeish head. Cereal grains dominate the aroma with a touch of butter. Cereal grains dominate the flavor too, with hints of maltiness, citrus hops. Flavor is very good for the style. Very light in body with ample carbonation makes this a drinkable brew. Overall, an extremely solid malt liquor, much better than others in the style.

sample at the brewery Wow! This is one of the few malts that i actually enjoy. I was definately caught off guard by the taste, and by the smell of this beer. Doesn’t cost much, so you should at least experience this once

Ashamed to admit that I drank many bottles of the original green death back in the day. It was cheap and packed a punch. But it was nasty. Not recomended. Points given for nostalgia only.

Slightly skunked sugar water smell.. Clear yellow, thick white head. Tastes of sweet cherries. Traces of hay. Bad, but not as bad as most cheap grocery store malt liquors.

This is an above-average malt liquor. I’ve only tried it one, buying a pint (can) of it in Washington, DC. It’s got a surprisingly crisp taste for a malt liquor. I don’t really know what "...with the imported taste" on the logo is supposed to mean, but I’ve never tried imported malt liquor. Haffenreffer is not available in Louisiana. RJT
