Deep fruitiness to this beer - plums, oranges, a little tartness and some cheesiness. Lots of brown sugary malts in there as well. Sweet, but rounded example. Nose is a nice fruit cocktail: pear, pineapple. Smooth body. Remains fruity but is dry and grassy. Simple. nahthan (129), Oakland, California, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Jan 3, 2006 From a growler filled at the Brewery 12/2005. Nice English style IPA with a decent hop aroma and a nice hop flavor. A tasty and pleasant British/European hop profile that’s a little more spicy and sharp and not fruity/floral/cirtus like most american IPA. A little touch of that rough bitterness (from a higher cohumulone hop?), but it adds to the charm. A nice cloudy unfiltered beer, the way they should be. The London Ale yeast finishing out slightly sweet but dry enough for the style. Tasty and very drinkable. alaskanwarren (286), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA
