Sampled at the ’09 Great Alaska Beer and Barley Wine Festival. Deep golden color with a thin, lasting off white head. Raw hop pellets and bitter grapefruit rind in the nose. Flavors of weak grapefruit juice with a bitter pith in the finish.

Cloudy orange-amber. Deep fruitiness to this beer - plums, oranges, a little tartness and some cheesiness. Lots of brown sugary malts in there as well. Sweet, but rounded example.

Bottle, special procurement. Hazy copper. Some particles. Nose is a nice fruit cocktail: pear, pineapple. Smooth body. Remains fruity but is dry and grassy. Simple.

From a growler filled at the Brewery 12/2005. Nice English style IPA with a decent hop aroma and a nice hop flavor. A tasty and pleasant British/European hop profile that’s a little more spicy and sharp and not fruity/floral/cirtus like most american IPA. A little touch of that rough bitterness (from a higher cohumulone hop?), but it adds to the charm. A nice cloudy unfiltered beer, the way they should be. The London Ale yeast finishing out slightly sweet but dry enough for the style. Tasty and very drinkable.

Surprisingly amount of citrus and flowery tastes in the hops. I could drink this stuff all day. I kept an extra litre to age in my basement.
