Poursa deep brown hue with no head at all. Aromas are oaky, medicinal, brown sugar, honey and a little whiskey.... very complex. Flavors of caramel, oak, chocolate, vanilla, and some more vanilla. Very intense and reminded me of sam adams triple bock, but without the soy sauce flavor.

Sampled with SoCal RB guys...thanks to whomever who brought this..Big bottle. I get a ton of DILL in the aroma. Smells like freshly grown dill from my parents garden. Crap. There are also malty chocolate notes in the aroma as well. Strange aroma. Hazy cola color with no head at all. Slart is slightly astringent turning very vinous, roasty, and of course oaky. Finishes chocolatey with more vinous cherry notes. Interesting...tastes better than it smells.

Pours with a dark brown body with no head or lacing. The aroma is slightly sweet, very oaky and malty with gingerbread notes and some caramel. Similar flavor iwth sour notes. Full bodied, smooth and warming.

Wow - treat had at the 2004 Fall Beerfest in Toronto. Cheers to wholfs and qdog I believe? - hope I got that right. So then, lots of varied aromas come through: maple, vanilla, soy, malt, alcohol, dark fruits. Flavours of toasty molasses and plummy port fruits and a nice woodiness. Long sour bitter finish, but in a good way. Nicely done.

dark brown, no head. smells like adam with dates and smoke and spice but has a very nice woody, toasty and toffee-ish note too. the palate is thick and chewy, yet smooth. the flavour is deep and complex with smoke, choclate spice, dried fruit and the effect of the barrel. a very well done barrel aged beer.

Bottle at Fall Beerfest In Toronto 2004. Deep brown in colour. Aroma was very malt, some port and alcohol. Flavour was plummy, some raisins, alcohol, some borrbon and port. Spicy body, medium-low carbonation. Finishes with a long alcohol warmth. Thanks for bringing this wohlfs.

Nearly jet black in the glass with zero carbonation. Smelled sweet and smokey. Tons of flavor going on. raisin, bourbon, and molasses. Great little alcohol burn in the end. I’d love to work on a bottle of this over a couple days in midwinter. THX to hopdog for sharing.

blackish brown color but slightly golden brown at the edges. only a few dark bubbles at the ring of the glass. nose is oak, vanilla, sherry, and brown butter. mouthfeel is slick and buttery too. taste is buttery and bourbon like. light alcohol heat. some sweetness like the bourbon and butter were sauteed in brown sugar. thanks hopdog!
