5000 (2409), Hardened Liver, Washington, USA Sep 2, 2007 Draught @ Brouwer’s Café: Deep burnt orange, moderate foamy off-white head, a few streams of carbonation, fairly nice lacing.   Campfire nose, loads of ash, rich biscuitiness as well.   Reminds me somewhat of the Adam, just not as complex with the malts.   Quite ashy on the tongue.   Somewhat of an odd concoction.   A little farmhouse like, some mustiness.   Moderate body and mouthfeel.   Finishes with a bit of smokiness, slightly biscuity.   Yeah, comes across as a lighter version of the Adam.
glkaiser (1150), Seattle, Washington, USA Jun 9, 2007 On tap at Brouwer’s Belgian Fest. Reddish brown with good head. Little bit of dark fruit sweetness, but not all that sweet for the style. Lots of spicy belgian yeast in the flavor. mreeves (257), Sammamish, Washington, USA May 17, 2007 A dark brown, strong Belgian ale. I called it an Abbey Dubbel, but I’m not sure about that distinction. Had on tap at the Brouwer’s Belgian Fest. Plenty of hops in this one, which makes it unusual. I really enjoyed it, but I think it will get better with time.
