As typical Hair of the Dog fashion goes, every style which is anticipated (by me at least) to be a killer West Coast hop bomb, ends up being a mellow fellow of a beer. Something fresh and fine with pine notes and citrus fruits. But wicked creamy in the mouthfeel. im expecting something firm and astringent, but it suprisngly ends up being way more chill then i thought.

This was brilliant. Malty front end with a dry finish. Loads of apricot, grasses, citrus. right in my wheelhouse. Sludge that needed shaken up at the bottom... mmmm... sludge.

Pours a opaque golden color...very murky like a dark Hefe. Nice head that billows and descends pretty quickly, but with cumulus-like clouds on top. Will caveat at this point that I consumed this after a Dreadnaught, so competition was fierce. Hoppy aroma is very nice and complex...lots of citrus (grapefruit and orange primarily) hops and some resiny/piney hops as well. The taste disappointed somewhat...just didn’t live up to the potential exhibited in the hops. Flavor was still good...mostly citrus hop flavors, but there was a good malt backbone to stand up to the hops, with some caramely/sugary undertones. Very oily mouthfeel, almost too much for a drink that goes down this quickly.

Bottle thanks to scrizzz. Pours a clear golden orange with a big fizzy white head that fades to a ring. Some chunks of lacing along the side of the glass. Aroma is fresh and juicy, mango, spruce, weed, resin. Flavour is full, but surprisingly mellow. Grapefruit, mango, and basically perfect balance between the caramely malt and hops. Crisp, dry finish. Some alcohol showing as it warmed. Body was medium to light, carbonation was mellow and smooth. Maybe my bottle wasn’t the freshest, but this was in no way a hop bomb of a dIPA. It was certainly tasty, though.

Honolulu, Hi.- Whole Foods - 22 oz bomber. Dark orange appearance, sticky white head. Heavy spruce aroma with lots of resiny accents. Lip smacking hoppy flavor with loads of juicy citrus - grapefruit, mango, hints of mint. Thick, rich mouthfeel. Perfect way to end a wonderful vacation in Hawaii.

22oz. Bottle: Aroma of hops, pine, slight toasting, light citrus, light lychee, some grapefruit. Poured amber in color with a small, creamy, dense, head that lasted throughout. Cloudy. Sparkling. Full of tiny, small, and large-sized particles throughout. Excellent lacing. Flavor is heavily bitter and lightly sweet. Tastes of hops, pine, grapefruit, lychee, resin, and light caramel malt. Medium body. Dry texture. Average carbonation. Hops, pine, lychee, and slight caramel malt finish is bitter and dry. A delicious IIPA.

Bottle with many thanks to scrizzz. Pours a slightly hazy gold with millions of little bubbles making their way to the surface but failing to make much of a head. Aromas are crisply hoppy... lots of citrus and pine with a touch of sweet pear or honey or something. Flavor is very nice for an imperial IPA... normally I like the hoppy ones and don’t like the malt bombs. This is definitely one of the hopcentric varieties. Lots of pine and lemon throughout, but a bit of a honey and light fruit sweetness take over for a little bit in the mid palate. Finish has a bit of ABV warmth and a sweet citrus edge.

Pours an orange color with a little white head to it. Tons of floaters in this beer. Has a citrus pine smell to it. Smell is very strong. Has a citrus taste at first with a very smooth bitter finish. HotD does it again
