Crushed with CaryTheDude and JakeBra. Aroma is like the best citrus ever. Flavor has a lot of citrus combined perfectly with a lot of carbonation. The mouthfeel might have been a tad thin, but awesome nonetheless because of the cool carbonation.

Bomber shared with a friend. It pours very clean, on the lighter side of color for other DIPA that I drink. The aroma was softer too. The flavor tastes more like an earthy single IPA than an Imperial. Texture was thinner as well. If this is suppose to be a hop bomb, then either our bottle was old, or the hop content is very meek and mild. Nice beer, but too highly priced and a tad overrated for a Double imo.

bomber from south bay drugs poured into a pint glass. pours a hazy yet bright orange/yellow with touches of amber and a very thin white head. aroma isn’t huge but is certainly nice. slighlty sweet with scents of orange zest, pink grapefruit and ripe peach along with touches of pine and flowers and a hint of rye. flavor is excellent. the piney, fresh hops dominate and flavors of tangerine, lemon, and pink grapefruit carry over from the aroma. flavor also has a nice sweetness to it that balances the hop bitterness well. the rye malt is ever so subtle, but i picked it up as the beer opened up and lingered after the swallow. mouthfeel is a bit thinner that other DIPAs but is nicely carbonated with a slight alcohol warmth. for my first experience with HOTD, i’m very impressed and can’t wait to get my hands on their other beers.

Bottle. Very lively hazy orange coloured brew with a beautiful porridge-like white foam. Aromas of peaches, honey and some pine. The flavour is a little metaillic with hoppy grapefruit notes. This sample tastes a little old..

HOPS HOPS HOPS HOPS HOPS. What else do you need to know. Hops from start to finish, too over the top for me.

Cloudy burnt sienna in color with a thin white head. Fresh wet hop aroma. Citric hop burn in the flavor, slightly tangy but with a rich, savory malt undercurrent. Very good.

A reasonable pour into my 25cl tulip glass gets me a three-finger thick head that overflows the rim of my glass just a bit. The head has quite a bit of staying power, is quite fluffy, leaves a nice layering of lace on the sides of my glass and forms some interesting structures as it slowly recedes. The beer is a honey / light amber color that shows a clear, bright copper color when held up to the light. The aroma is nicely hoppy, though it has me noticing that my nose is not quite working as well as usual). Aromas of pine, a touch of menthol, as well as a light herbal note are noticeable up front, but there is a solid, citrus-like backdrop of grapefruit, bergamot, lychee and lemon zest.

The beer is nicely hoppy tasting, much more so than my nose was able to tell. Notably, the beer is also not infected (like my last bottle of this), which is really quite nice. The hop character is fresh and punchy with ample flavors of grapefruit, bergamot oil, and lychee up front; it finishes with a sharper, more herbal focus of tongue clinging pine and hemp oil, with a touch of menthol there as well. There is a nice, solid, and up front, clean bitterness throughout the flavor profile, it gets a little dirty (in a good way) towards the finish as the more herbal hop components kick in. The beer is nice and light bodied for a beer of this strength, which is perfect for the way I like my Double IPAs; it does have some body to it though and is able to carry the ample hop character quite well. There is a touch of alcohol noticeable in the finish, it provides a touch of warming as well as a peppery bite.

This is quite nice when it is not infected, I am quite glad I was able to get another batch of this.

Disturbingly over carbonated, this beer ends up with

spring 08 bomber on 11 22 08. wonderful citrus, piney fresh hop aromas. light hop juice, golden color with small white head. nice and bitter on the palate, but not a hop bomb. grapefruit. full body on top while light on the sides. very well balance IIPA.
