22oz bottle thanks to both kegbear and hophead22.... pours a hazy orange-brown with a soapy/frothy whitebhead..... aroma of sweet candied fruit and biscuity malt ..... flavor is a nice mixture of sweet and slightly bitter. biscuity caramel malt, pine resin bitterness and lingering sugars. finishes somewhat bitter on the palate. not sure how fresh of a bottle this is but still pretty good.

Surprisingly tasty beer, if only because average ratings are about 3.8. Hazy golden pour with orange tint. Think grapefruit juice (not the pink kind). Lush, tropical nose... possibly the best-smelling IIPA I’ve had, which is again surprising. Very fruity--grapefruit, mandarin orange, peach, apricot. A bit of malt to back it up. Slight resin on the palate, and a bit spicy. Bitter and crisp hop finish. Quite good.

Pours a pale hazy bright golden yellow with a thin fizzy white head. The nose is citrusy and fruity, mandarin oranges, sweet, grapefruit, a nice hidden malt backbone. The flavor has an assertive citrus peel bitterness that doesn’t come through in the aroma, mandarin oranges, fruity, nice malty sweetness. The palate has a dry hoppy bite and finishes citrusy with some sweetness.

notes from on tap at horse brass pub in portland - though we had it again elsewhere on our pacific nw trip. hazy orange-gold pour. flowery citrus hop and rye grain aroma. taste is floral caramel and honey. sticky texture. liked this just fine - but relative to other hair of the dog, this is down the pecking order. K-7

Aroma is pine, citrus, floral hops (although there is a balanced back-ground of malt). The Rye malt seems to add a sweet/sugary aroma in the nose (subtle, but nice) Pours cloudy orange with a tint of red. Thin white head. (Color seems a little light for a Double IPA) Flavor is clean pine, citrus and spice. The dominate flavor is hops, all over the palate and the throat. Although, there is definitely malt in balance. The rye malt adds something unique to the taste, but I can’t pin-point it. Little to no head retention. Very drinkable beer!!

This brown pour has a hoppy, orange aroma. The flavor is of grapefruit and it has a nice tart hop finish.

Wonderfully hoppy but graceful and smooth. Intense hop flavor but without the bite. Alcoholic to boot.
