Pure hop smell with lots of citrus, orange, tangerine and lemon notes, really nice. Flavor doesn’t quite match the nose, but it’s still nicely hoppy. Bitter, juicy and oily, with loads of hop flavor and a fairly lingering finish. Finally able to try it fresh, and it’s a hell of a brew. Gooney (56), Oregon, USA

The aroma is lots of hops, a bit of malt, pine and grapefruit peel. Flavor is very grapefruity with grapefruit peel and pine on the finish. Seriously delicious IIPA. apshah99 (138), Portland, Oregon, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | May 31, 2008 2008 bottle. Hazy golden pour with tihn white head. Hoppy aroma with citrus and a bit of pineapple. Tastes or grapefruit, light malt, spices and rye, with a very pleasant not too bitter finish. Nice viscous mouthfeel. This is better than the 2007 batch - more complex and even more drinkable. hapjydeuce (767), Del Mar, California, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | May 27, 2008 Bottle acquired at the PP Bottle Shop. Shared with family and friends during a nice Memorial Day barbecue. Hazy amber color, fast-fading head and medium carbonation. Saucy hop aroma with light orange peel, ginger and grapefruit. Pleasant flavor profile with lots of pine needle and rye malt underneath. Finishes with short bitterness and it has a lighter body and alcohol tone than I expected for a DIPA. Not bad at all. Nose is floral hops, malt and pine needles. Palate is grapefruit with a resin finish. Looks and tastes like fresh squeezed yellow grapefruit juice. Medium mouth feel – good stuff. | 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 10/10 | 3/5 | 9/10 | 3/5 | 18/20 | May 26, 2008 Pours clear golden-orange, light foam with little retention to speak of. A huge floral hit of hops on the nose along with a slight woodiness. Flavor has noticeable bittering hops well balanced with aromatic and some woodiness as on the nose. Mouthfeel has a touch of warm alcohol and light carbo. A very fine IIPA, and dangerously drinkable.
