We had a Hair of the Dog Adam a while back, and it was impressive to say the least. The DIPA isn’t any different. Distinct flavor of grapefruit juice, and that’s it. Nice aftertaste and control on the palate. Tough to say it was better than Stone IPA, but that’s the truth. A definite re-buy. DTM (541), Winters, California, USA

Poured a cloudy yellow with a citrus aroma. Tastes of grapefruit and other citrus flavor. Not as bitter as most Imperial IPA’s, which was a very pleasant surprise. My favorite IPA to date. wickedpete (626), Lexington Park, Maryland, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Mar 16, 2008 Thanks to Brian for this one. Very cloudy pale orange body with moderate fluffy white head. Citrus sweet aroma of grapefruit, flowery hops, and subtle brown sugar. Light lemony sweetness in the flavor, also a dry hoppy bitterness persists. Dry light body with a clean finish. | 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 15/20 | Mar 6, 2008 Man I wish this beer was carbonated! This may have been an old bottle? Aroma was nice and big. All pine and citrus hops. Pour was pretty unique. No head but a cloudy and no see through light brown. Looked like dirty toilet water. Taste was the way I like my IIPAs (similar to Hop Wallop) all pine and citrus hops with not much malt to speak of. The thin mouthfeel and lack of any carbonation brought this beer way down. Grapefruit bitter aftertaste. Nice try. beerbill (1940), Laurel, New York, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Mar 6, 2008 22 oz. bottle. Pours a very cloudy, dull, ugly pale gold with a very thin white head that disappeared before the first sip. Huge aroma of spruce trees and grapefruit. The aroma was actually very refreshing. The flavor was very one-dimensional with strong grapefruit and to a lessser extent pine. No malt backbone at all. This was like drinking hop tea, which I understand will appeal to some people, but not me. Bitter finish but not overly acrid. Disappointing. ratman197 (3185), Arvada, Colorado, USA

Aromas of pine, orange, pink grapefruit, light carmel and a hint of spice. Palate was light to medium bodied smooth and slightly dry. Flavors of orange, grapefruit, light apricot, light pine and a hint of carmel with a smooth lingering bitter finish.
