oh6gdx (8798), Vasa, Finland Feb 28, 2008 Bottled. Hazy yellow colour, mediumsized white head. Aroma is fruity, caramelly, mildly alcoholic as well as nectary. Flavour is very grassy, hayish and yeasty. Bitter finish and aftertaste. The aroma was lovely, but as for the flavours, I got quite dissappointed. crizay (1050), Brook Park (was Tampa,FL), Ohio, USA Feb 27, 2008 Hazy golden orange pour, small bubbly white head that stays. Aroma is delicious, melon, orange, slight grapefruit, peach, pine and mango. Flavor is orange, grapefruit, and some melon. Big resiny bitterness to this killing off the flavors I loved so much in the aroma. Medium bodied and smooth creamy mouthfeel but there is just so much resin to it. Some more peach and melon finish it out but still get round housed by the Resin. I really want to like this beer and I do but I don’t love it. omhper (12155), Stockholm, Sweden Feb 25, 2008 Bottled. Cloudy golden, rich but faint head. Rich hop aroma of peach and lychee. Medium sweet with solid body. Dominated by aromatic hop flavours - grapefruit, lychee and sweat. Malt only backs it up. Long very bitter finish. Zinister (1198), Houston, Texas, USA Feb 23, 2008 Shared this bottle with KAggie97 on a beautiful Houston day. Deep dirty orange pour. Nose of fresh oranges is very welcoming. Flavor is orange peel, but not pithy, with soft floral hops. Mouthfeel is rather light, which makes this an easy drinker. Good DIPA. KAggie97 (2406), Ugly, Hot, and Humid Spring, Texas, USA Feb 23, 2008 Bottle with Zinister. Gig’em, ya dang hippie. Pours a lush, thick cheddar orange with an exquisite aroma of orange, orange peel, and orange pulp. It’s kinda like smelling an orange. Flavor is very floral and a touch sour, but not assertive enough. Palate is average but leans toward the thin side. All in all, a refreshing and light IIPA. doubleo (1096), San Diego, California, USA Feb 23, 2008 22oz gusher, I mean bomber... I got my first glass poured okay but after that, lots of foam. Pours a hazy orange/yellow color with a frothy but fizzywhite head that leaves a good amount of lace. Smells spicy hoppy and crisp malty, not overwhelming. Tastes sweet hoppy and then spicy hoppy through the middle to the finish. Full body with vibrant carbonation. Not impressive. Tastes the same as all of their other overcarbonated, yellow/orange brews... thooper41 (384), Oregon, USA Feb 22, 2008 saved this one for rating #100. 22oz bomber: pours a very hazy light brown with minimal white head which is very unlike HOTD. aroma is strong in pine and hops and a slight bit of malt. flavor has a pretty good floral and pine style hops backed with decent amount of malt, but as all IPAs should is left unbalanced. very good IIPA. Taverner (825), San Ramon, California, USA Feb 20, 2008 Pours a golden-to-amber color with lots of frothy white head. It’s as if someone shook this up, but it was not. The head just started pouring out of this one. It was a little annoying actually. There was a layer of sediment that flurried up no matter how steady your pour was. The head stayed around for a while, giving off a fruity piney aroma. Really fruity - and you could pick up on this from the first taste. Dank and resinous, this is a very floral, very piney DIPA. One of the better ones I’ve had, despite the exploding foam.
