drewbeerme (2224), Chicago, Illinois, USA Dec 21, 2007 22oz, spring 2007 bottle. thanks to davecooks for this. pours hazy orange with white head. nose is medicinal and citrus. mainly citrus, peach, and lemon notes coming through in the flavor. decent but seemed a little infected, once again Hair of the Dog showing itself again. i can’t wait to re-rate a fresher bottle some day. Beerlando (2284), Orlando, Florida, USA Dec 15, 2007 Fresh Fall 2007 batch. Pours a very cloudy glowing orange-amber color with a small, foamy, off-white head. Minimal spots of random lacing dot the glass. The aroma shows a toasted, slightly buttery caramel malt base accompanied by a variety of resinous pine and citrus hops. The flavor follows suit. Toffee emerges, as do toasted grains, followed by more citrus and pine hops. Medium-full bodied and fairly smooth, though a little astringency does show through on the back end. Solid brew from a solid brewery. unrulythings (73), Portland, Oregon, USA Dec 8, 2007 a refreshingly floral aroma. flavor is full of complexity. pine, pink grapefruit, and light caramel combined for a slight bitterness on the tongue. an excellent DIPA, would definitely purchase again. AleDrinker (1090), Sunnyvale, California, USA Dec 8, 2007 Pours hazy amber with a huge rocky head. Aromas are a nice hoppy blend of pine, citrus, and a hint of lemon. Flavor is slightly sweet balanced out by the potent bitterness. Finish is dry and bitter. Good IIPA. MrBendo (1039), Swedesboro, New Jersey, USA Dec 4, 2007 Thanks to msubulldog25 for the bottle. Fall 2007 date. Pours dirty, cloudy orange with a thin head. Aroma of citrus, pineapple and floral hops. Taste was grapefruit and pine with just a bit of caramel malt background. Perfumy and slightly bitter finish. Very nice. If it weren’t for the god-awful appearance of this beer, my score would have looked really good. sheatripper (863), Brooklyn, New York, USA Dec 2, 2007 Bomber. Murky orange/brown pour witha small spitty head. Kind of ugly actually. Initial aroma of bright peach and floral hops, which becomes grassier after a bit. Tannic, tea-like leafy hop flavor, with grapefruit and trailing medicinal notes. Slight carbonation. The basic components are all there, but this one just seems muddled. Kind of disappointing by 2IPA standards, let alone HOTD standards. CelticBrew (676), The Crystal Coast, North Carolina, USA Dec 1, 2007 Pours light amber, aroma of yeast, pines and cirus notes. An IIPA? Formed huge foamy head. Flavour is of pines, citrus, a tinge of malts, a bit of hops and nutmeg. At first I was thinkin’ a tripel??? Ah, no, this is truley a seasonal IIPA, springtime. Light, but comes throw in the end. Yeah, a Springtime IIPA, on the money. Was a little suprise this time of year (fall), a nice beer. Would love to try on tap.... KnutAlbert (3108), Oslo, Norway Nov 23, 2007 A creamy beer with lots of grassy hops. Loads of bitterness. Warming.
Good, but not quite there.
