cathcacr (586), Portland, Oregon, USA Oct 16, 2007 Bomber on Sat. 10/13 for the marathon 13-6 Indians victory. Unbelievable sediment on this, making it a ridiculously cloudy and actually mellowed-out IIPA.
nhorween (639), Chicago, Illinois, USA Oct 10, 2007 Bottle. Hazy golden-cider pour with a soapy white head - great retention. Awesome aroma - hops, citrus, pears, sweet apples, simple syrup. Flavor is a bit of a let down but still not bad. Finish is decent. Above average. cgarvieuk (4159), Edinburgh, Scotland Oct 10, 2007 bottle at toms ... Hazy orange ... Sweet fruity pine american high hop ... mellow and soft american high hop bit bitter with lots of juicy resisn. An ok beer. kreepindeth (405), Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, USA Oct 2, 2007 On tap at horsebrass pub
HUGE citrus nose! Grapefruit up front with some orange and peach in the background. Medium mouthfeel with some malty sweetness followed by a huge bitter punch in the face. Aftertaste could linger for hours. Sticky, resiny coating in the back of your throat the never ends. I was extremely impressed by this beer. shigadeyo (2210), Harrison, Ohio, USA Oct 1, 2007 10/01/2007: Hair of the Dog Blue Dot Imperial India Pale Ale pours a transparent golden yellow with tinge of orange. It has a lively flurry of vigorous carbonation and a massive, dense head that never fades. A good amount of foamy cloud-like lacing is left on the sides of glass. The sticky aroma has sweet mandarin oranges with touches of pineapple and pine. The flavor is lightly sweet and fruity at first. Actually, it tastes like a Belgian Tripel, but then a bulky amount of bitterness hits hard and settles on the roof of the mouth and in the back of the throat. The bitterness has lots of pine and sharp grapefruit hops that last through the finish and then lingers on the palate. There is even has a touch of dry grassy hops. Overall, the hop profile is quite a complex and does not disappoint. There is some mild, smooth, even alcohol that comes through in the flavor as well. The alcohol is not exceptionally high or forthright, but it can still be felt! The medium-light body is slightly sticky. This is a really good Imperial IPA that is sure to please anybody. It met my expectations and I really enjoying drinking the entire bottle!

Magicdave6 (5400), London, Greater London, England Oct 1, 2007 Bottle thanks to beeranarchist, at home with cgarvieuk. Aroma is sweet and raw malts, peachy bittery hops, but too sweet. Taste is similar very bitter, but lacking citrus hop and good character, very disapointed. PilsnerPeter (2585), Flushing, New York, USA Sep 30, 2007 Bottle from FlacoAlto, Thanks! Pours a light, very hazy golden with an initially enormous, frothy, off-white head that collapses to a consistent lace. Very earthy, musty aroma. There’s tons of yeast, damp barnyard, spicy orange, white pepper, lemon zest, and a thick bread-y background. Lively carbonation on the palate. Flavor is spicy, earthy, and dirty. Soft peach, citrus/orange fruits come through in the mid-palate. It seems rye malt always works very well with highly hopped brews. There’s a great graham cracker/cookie background, giving it a solid body. More tropical fruit character comes through with warmth giving it a mango touch. Initially this is a very earthy/dirty beer which develops more hop character while it sits and warms. The finish is a nice spicy/peppery dryness with a hint of roast. Extremely drinkable, and unique IIPA. beerbuzzmontreal (2909), Montreal, Quebec, Canada Sep 28, 2007 Bottle courtesy of bu11zeye. Pours a hazy yellow color with a thin white head. Attractive aroma of pineapple, malt and yeast. The flavor has the same pineapple, malt and yeast combo, it’s a very peculiar IIPA and I like it a lot. The body is light with a liquorous texture and medium carbonation.
