Bottle. Lots of small floaties in this one, messing up the nice golden color a bit. Off-white head. Mostly hoppy aroma, with pines and fruits. The flavor is quite bitter, with fruits, orange, pine, some malt, and peppery hops. Quite carbonated, medium to full mouthfeel. Definately a good beer, but as with many American (I)IPA’s, I miss balance. (070705)

650 ml bottle from Bottle Barn, santa Rosa. Hazy golden yellow with a fizzy white head. Strong floral grapefruit and pine aroma. Great imperial IPA taste simillar to Stone’s Ruination. Good bitter finish.

Hmmm, I’m kind of shocked at the 95. I had really high hopes for this one but it’s sort of disappointing. My bottle isn’t balanced well at all. I understand it’s an IIPA but this is full on astringent...listerine...mediciney hoppy flavor. F’ing enormous head which is a pain in the ass waiting for it to die down. Don’t know if I got a bad bottle or if the rating is inflated by the breweries reputation. Either way, I’m not really digging this brew; really wanted to love this one too :(

Thin head of varying sides bubbles. Kind of rocky on top. Light carbonation. Nice sweet floral and citrusy hops aroma. Some malts in there too. Color is a cloudy dark orange. Lively in the mouth. Sweet caramel with plenty of bitter grapefruit and some spice (pepper). Light alcohol presence. Lots of bitterness that hangs around for a while. Nice strong bitterness; just the way an IIPA should be. Pretty darn good stuff. I forget who sent this to me but a big thanks.
