650 ml bottle. Hazy golden body with a foamy white head. Not to heavy aroma of citrus and hay. Flavor is mild and well-balanced malt, caramel, hop and moderate bitterness. Quite nice American IPA.

22oz Bomber $6.33 Liquid Solutions Spring 2007 Bottling Blue Dot Imperial IPA pours a hazy orange with tiny carbonation bubbles rising to the head. Glows bright orange when held to the light. The head was a dissappointment. An aggressive pour yielded a minimal head that faded quickly to a white swirling skim coat. Caramel maltiness up front to a very aromatic pine needle hoppiness. Unsweetened grapefruit and a mild aspirin like hoppiness glide in and out of there as well. As it warms some earthy hop resin shows up as well. I pucker up before even taking a sip. Interesting and enjoyable selection of hops. Flavor is identical to the aroma. Caramel maltiness up front that quickly gives way to the unique and complex hop qualities. Definately a bitter beer but the malt is no slouch either. Medium bodies and airy when it hits the tongue. Prickly carbonation that primes the tongue for the up coming tongue kicking bitterness. Lower abv for a double IPA, at 7%, really helps the drinkability. Good body wit hrefreshing qualities. A very good IIPA from Hair of the Dog. My first opportunity to give their beers a try and I’m very happy with what I tasted. 6/27/07

Smell is alright. Not too much to it. Flavor is very hoppy and bitter with a little floral characters. Just a bit too much of bittering hops.

Awesome unique color for an IPA, looks almost like a hefeweizen. Smells and tastes like fruity hops, it’s too hoppy for me to really specify. Also a little too hoppy for my tastes, but still real solid. I love the gritty mouthfeel, it’s sort of like a white ale in that regard.

Bottle. Bought @ Wohlenbergs, Sønderborg. Pours a muddy pale yellow. There is a giant, foamy, slightly off white head on top of the liquid. Aroma is zeisty fruity - some lemons, grapefruit and oranges - fresh ones, that is. Medium to high carbonation, making the beer lively and fresh. Flavour is mild at first, a little touch of caramel, but a sh**load of different hops. There are citric ones, peppery ones, pine-like ones, woody ones and fruity ones. Complex and well-rounded. It doesn’t even dry out my mouth that terribly much. Nice brew

From a 22oz Bottle. Pours a somewhat hazy, naval orange skin color with a thick layer of foamy, brilliant white head. Aromas of white grapefruit and loads of herbal hops, including a subtle wave of meyer lemon zest and perfumy orange blossoms. A pleasing layer of honey caramel malts seems to peak out from behind the hops, but the hops take the forefront. Light bodied, crisply carbonated mouthfeel. Flavors of white pine and pink grapefruit zest balanced by a touch of caramel malt, but I would personally enjoy a bit more malt backing. Great palate with an exceptional dryness and clean hop flavor. Impressive hop utilization that brings out a lot of hop flavor without being excessively bitter or harsh. Deceptively easy drinking, fine example of the style.

Very nice. Not the hop bomb I expected, but there hops are there in abundance. The aroma has citrus and grapefruit. Flavor is almost all hops, but balanced by sweet malt that I wasn’t expecting. The balance is quite good. Light hop burn.

Thanks to Skyview for sharing this tasty tasty brew. Well done citrus hop nose. Rich yellow color with faint whit head. Smooth hoppy body that’s a little sweet for the style but exactly what I expect from Hair of the Dog.
