henrikb (1298), Aarhus, Denmark Jan 21, 2007 Dark golden body, huge big bubbled white head; Very hoppy pleasant nose, it smells very nice but is a bit to simple; Huge big bubbled carbonation, perfect texture and fill with quite a bit of dry bitterness; Quite long very bitter dry finish, pleasant texture, hoppy aromas, but lacks complexity. Great ordinary beer, perfectly made, but lacks complexity and depth in all aspects to really be something. Very well made, but not very exiting. Raphu83 (7), New York, New York, USA does not count Jan 20, 2007 Full hops, great dark color and filling body, from my novice opinion this is a great beer that I will keep returning to boboski (1095), Alabama, USA Jan 16, 2007 Courtesy SoLan via Degarth, grrr. Cloudy copper pour, tall white head. Rocky carbonation develops, fat and cavernous bubbles, awesome retention. Aroma is bold, citirc hops remind of peaches, grapefruit, melon, some orange rinds. A little rye indicated, lemon zest not far behind. Aroma is light and crisp, but very forward, billowing in waves over the crest of the glass. Rye in the flavor is dry and spicy. A rich palate, quite full bodied for a double IPA. Creamy and pleasant but not as drinkable as other HOTD beers sampled. SoLan (1369), Orlando, Florida, USA Jan 15, 2007 Courtesy Degarth. Hazy gold/yellow. Small, frothy, white head settles to a thin layer. Nose of floral and lightly spicy and resinous hops, subtle grain. Similar flavor with a lot more spiciness, drying yeast. Medium body, well balanced. Very nice, very drinkable. Styles (1653), Lincoln Park, Michigan, USA Jan 15, 2007 Numerous bottles from 11026. Dark golden orange. Hazy, with minimal off-white head made of tiny bubble carbonation. Decent spotty lacing. Nice zesty bite up front, combination of orange and grapefruit. Huge caramel background. Flavor all hop zest up front, orange, pine and less grapefruit than aroma indicates. Some light malty sweetness through the middle to help balance, fades back to hop bitterness in the finish. Huge hop belches. Residuel hop flavor lasts quite awhile. Could use some more malt IMO. Still a nice brew regardless. ThomasE (5179), Copenhagen, Denmark Jan 15, 2007 Cloudy yellow colour with a small white head. Hoppy citric aroma with a pineapple fruityness. Hoppy bitter flavor with a citric fruity note. Dry and quite bitter finish. MMMBEERLS (18), Portland, Oregon, USA Jan 14, 2007 Bottle conditioning means better beer in my book. This one pours a bit hazy with a deep golden color and a thick 3/4 inch head. The nose is resplendant with big grapefruit hints probably lots of Chinook hops? Flavor is extremely complex with a big body backed up with a crisp almost dry hoppy finish. This beer can stand up to almost anything. I certainly enjoy the palate of this and will drink many as I grow older. Papsoe (14613), Frederiksberg, Denmark Jan 14, 2007 (Bottle 65 cl) Slightly hazy, pale amber with a tall and lively head. Fresh, lightly grapefruitish nose. Medium body with an excessive carbonation. Lightly sweet malt, distinct notes of citrus and a solid bitterness. Not your typical Double IPA. 080107
