In Tokyo at the Imperial Hotel - bottles. Great hazy Oregon beer look to it. the aroma is floral almost frutal. The caramel laced head is just awesome. Now it’s a little sweet for my taste, but it seems to me that that’s the style of the Hair of the Dog. I’ll be in Portland in two weeks and will pick up some more !

Bottle via trades with kenb and stoutlover72. Pours a hazy, bright golden color with an ample, thick, white head, looks beautiful. Aroma is pine, floral hops, citrus, yeast. Flavor is spicy pine, floral hops, malt, yeast, almost belgian-like, very different. Palate is medium-full, highly carbonated, spicy, bitter finish. Definitely out side the box for a IIPA. Hops and bitterness became more pronounced as it warmed. Pretty nifty. I liked it but didn’t fall in love.

Bomber courtesy of Walt! Thanks. Poured a cloud orange, with a HUGE head. I don’t know if maybe i got a bad bottle, but this just tasted kind of thin, with a metallic taste. It get a little better as it warmed, but i suppose i could tell some potentional for this beer, i’d like to try another.

22 oz bomber. Hazy golden beer ( almost looks like a trad. German hefe), large eggshell white head. Strong aromas of pine and spicey hop, some hints of valencia orange for some reason. Sweet and malty for a second then a torrent of piney/citric hopping cleanses, no scours almost the tongue, then it sort of balances out again in the end. Very drinkable and feels very nice and light on the palate, which i think is an advantage in a very hoppy beer. Nice beer but not quite a Double IPA, but more than just a plain old IPA. I think this fits rather neatly in the middle of the two categories.

Hazy orange golden with fine white thick creamy head. Aroma and taste of Citrus/orange/grape, pine, hops -soap/flowers + yeast. Soft mouthfeel & carbonation. Little malty sweetness that matches fine with the power amount of hops that is used. Again I sense a taste of pepper like the other products I’ve tasted from the brewery. Lasting bitter finish! Numbness from hops! Great!

Bottle Hazy dark golden with white big-bubbled head with OK retention. Complex nose of apricot, citrus and bit pine backed up by pear and pineapple. Very nice. Straightforward malt profile with just enough sweetness to complement the heavy bitterness. Quite fizzy but nice enough texture. Nice IPA, but the hoppiness seems a little rough.

22 oz. bottle, from Liquid Solutions. Pours hazy golden-amber color with a creamy white head and lots of little floaties. Aroma is pungent and hoppy, juicy citrus with orange, lemon and grapefruit especially prominent along with spruce and not-quite ripe summer fruits. Flavor is hoppy, hoppy most noticibly grapefruit rind, pine needles, and pepper with toasty and toffee malt well in the background. Full body and smooth, gentle carbonation. Hops galore!

Bottled. Golden and orange coloured - a bit murkey - small head. A bit sharp and slightly sour. Notes of citric and yeasts. Too high carbonated and kinda dry.
