| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Dec 10, 2006 Bottle... Cloudy straw-colored ale with a huge, fizzy, white head. Terrific, wispy retention. Breadsy, fruity, spicy nose. The aroma is reminiscent of a saison or Belgian blond, not an IIPA. No hint of hops, just light banana, coriander and dough. The hops really HIT AND STICK with that first sip, though. Bitter as Hell. Grapefruit rind, bitter tannins and a pinch of salt. Lengthy, tongue-numbingly bitter, dry finish. Cheers to jimbowood for shipping the bottle! Skinnyviking (4141), Copenhagen, Denmark
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Dec 10, 2006 Bottle. High white and lasting head. Hazy golden body. Sweet and fruity hops aroma. Powerful hops flavor and just a hint of the alcohol. bhensonb (4241), Woodland, California, USA
| 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Dec 9, 2006 Aroma of pine with underlying citrus, and I think yeast. Hazy apricot amber color. Decent white head. Starts with a Belgian yeast aspect! Then it’s on to hop and some malt. I’d say it’s a Belgian approach to an IPA. Develops some fruit along the edges of the tongue. After a few sips it seems like there’s orange in here. This one is complex to me. tjthresh (1765), Greenfield, Indiana, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Dec 8, 2006 22 ounce bottle served in a Duvel tulip. Dark golden with a huge billowing white head. The aroma is pine needles, lemony dish soap, powdered sugar. The flavor passes everything and goes straight to a rough bitter finish. Medium body with quite a bit of carbonation. Not all that imperial. westcoastbias (12), panama city, Florida, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Dec 6, 2006 transparent amber with an out of this world white head. Nose was very citrusy with a whif of grain. This made my taste buds stand on end, lots of carbonation (bomber) with huge amounts of hops. Wierd calling this an Imperial or double, seems like a hef with buckets of hops but they make it and I only drink it so.............interesting beer not a winner though Ungstrup (15096), Frederiksberg, Denmark
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 2/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Dec 3, 2006 An unclear orange beer with a dying white head. The aroma is very powerful with notes of pineapple, grapefruit, and wheat. The flavor is sweet with strong fruity notes - especially pineapple and grapefruit, leading to a dry bitter end. Nice one. jason (1621), Easton, Pennsylvania, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Nov 26, 2006 Bottle from cbkschubert. Thanks Craig for another great hook up! Loud fizz and good aroma, very hoppy smell. Pours a huge head that got to be like a little science experiment. Very pale/orangey look, clear with decent head and ring. Good flavor and very hoppy. Tastes somewhat similar to doggieclaws. Very smooth and very well balanced. Great brew although different than any IIPA I’ve ever had. Cheers!
