Pours an ever so slightly hazy copper with a towering, fluffy, bubbly white head--gorgeous. Big crisp notes of grapefruit and pine (welcome to the Northwest, right?). High side of medium body, with active, tingly carb (no carb is visible, but the tingle certainly is there). Sharply bitter, resiny palate, but with a clean, herbalish finish that lingers a bit. Not much missing from this one. Glad to call it #400. JohnnyJ (1309), Carlsbad, California, USA

Nice aroma of sweet malt, citrus, orange, caramel, and even some spice. Flavor is a bit odd for an IIPA. Tastes of citrus, bitterness, spice, orange, and a small amount of caramel. Much spicer than most IIPAs. Meduim mouthfeel. SDalkoholic (1188), Chula Vista, California, USA

Super hazy and nearly opaque double IPA that also has plenty of sediment and specs of dust floating around. The aroma gives off a spiced yeast with a decent serving hop but overall a medium amount of olfaction. The drink is strong in its delivery with plenty of spice and bitterness but also some strange flavors of deordant or body wash soap. Other worthy flavors come out such as coriander, all spice, and lemon shavings. Very perculiar imperial double IPA. Glouglouburp (2810), Montreal, Quebec, Canada
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Nov 7, 2006 Cloudy orange body with a small white head. Fruitiness level is above average for that type of beer. The pineapple and tangerine flavours mix well with the floral hops. Not very sweet. Very hoppy with medium bitterness. Alcohol presence felt a bit more than 7%. Plenty of creamy non-caramelized malt. A very nice beer. A testament to the incredible West-Coast beer scene is the fact that this Blue Dot is just another green dot on the West-Cost Hoppy-Beer radar. bu11zeye (5433), Frisco, Texas, USA

Aroma of citrus, breadiness, and light pine. Flavor of piney hops and spicy orange peel with a bitter finish. AlabastorJones (765), San Francisco, California, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Nov 6, 2006 mirky golden/yellow color with a mediumly laced head, sweet strawberry nose, grapefruit, pretty hoppy with the dull hop burn in the finish, but not overly done, well balanced but still offering a complex flavor arrangement Aubrey (2774), Denver, Colorado, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Nov 6, 2006 Hazy orange. Great-looking fluffy head. Fresh-smelling nose (oranges and yeast). Lively carbonation; rather refreshing. Tasty caramel and crystal malt sweetness. Super spicy, with elements of sweet grass, spruce tips, citrus and pepper. Nice level of bitterness to boot. Great beer. jimbowood (950), Athens, Georgia, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Nov 4, 2006 Bottle. One of the most interesting IIPA’s I’ve tried. Appearance is like that of an unfiltered hefeweizen- pale cloudy straw colored. Huge, hoppy aroma w/ that metallic/acidic nose that you get from some of the HOTD brews. HUGE head. Flavor is complex. A little watered-down. Don’t know if I like the interpretaton of the style, but it’s definitely interesting and worth a try.
