| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jul 3, 2009 Thanks to scrizzz for treat. Pours a nice amber orange with thin white head, minimal lacing. Aroma of citrus hops, slight floral, pine, caramel, and slight malt. Flavor is more floral than citrus and has a strong spice presence. Very drinkable, but doesn’t quite have the balance I would hope for. Enjoyable though, even with the sediment at the end. SamGamgee (1429), Santa Cruz (La Selva), California, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jul 1, 2009 22oz bottle. Spring 2009 release. Definitely a regular IPA. A hoppy one, but dry and lean in the malt department and not overly aromatic on the hops either. Amber-orange color with a weak head. The aroma is interesting in that it has a wood-chip spice like cut pine of cypress. Spicy and a touch floral also. The flavor has an almost nutty malt sweetness that quickly dries out to a resiny, spicy and piney bitter finish with drying alcohol on the tongue. Medium bodied with medium carbonation. The rye contributes a nice spicy quality that works well with the woody hops. Not my favorite IPA, but damn interesting to drink. carruthm (1123), Seattle, Washington, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 2/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jun 29, 2009 A highly floral aroma, lavender like. The body is a clear golden yellow lacking much of any kind of head. Taste is bitter, as expected, and of a floral nature, rather dry and acidic. Tweety (343), Vancouver, Washington, USA

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 16/20 | Jun 10, 2009 22oz bottle. Pours a slightly cloudy orange with a medium white head, as it progresses the lacing is beautiful. The aroma is fruity and slightly sweet malts. The flavor quite sweet, caramel, and brandied apricot. For the abv this is a alcoholly beer. The bitterness is a good balance to the sweetness, but the hop aroma and flavor isn’t quite what I expect in a DIPA. This beer reminded me of Clear Creek brandy with a bitter hop balance. The mouth feel is very heavy and leaves my mouth tingly from the alcohol. Extremely nice. JaBier (1200), Capital City, Ohio, USA

poured a lighter golden orange. Large creamy white head.
Smells of very light floral hops with a tad of citrus.
Not a lot of hop flavor, mostly just a hoppy bitterness, Rye malt if very evident. Adds a sort of tangy sweetness.
