Lagunitasfan (432), San Diego, California, USA May 20, 2009 22 oz bottle. May have sat around too long or something. Not the wonderful IIPA I was hoping for. Nice strong white head, and dark amber color. I didn’t get nearly the sweetness or hoppiness others here got. Good sharpness, but relatively boring and one dimensional. I’ll have to try another bottle someday to see if it’s any better. Compared to the Ballast Point Dorado I had immediately before, this was bland. douglas88 (1556), Salt Lake City, Utah, USA May 17, 2009 22 oz bottle thanks to Jeremy, Spring 2009 edition, thanks man! Pours a copper color with a small bubbly white head. The aroma is excellent; loads of fruity hops, apricot, pine, citrus and lots of full hop notes. The flavor is also dominated by the hops; citrus, grapefruits, zesty bitterness, some light pine as well. The malt does balance it out some, especially because the hops are somehow not that aggressive, a noticeable grain or rye flavor. Very nice. I could drink this anytime and everyday. Somehow mellow and yet bursting with flavor and freshness. ditmier (1020), Boise, Idaho, USA May 17, 2009 2009 Bottle - THanks BuckeyeBoy! - Pours a pretty ugly, murky tan with an small off white head...aroma is huge hop resin, pineapple, citrus peel, and light malt...flavour is similar, not as hoppy or malt as the nose suggested, but still very tasty, rich hip bitterness and caramel that work well together, floral hops and tropical fruit...good stuff! trevor211 (500), Seattle, Washington, USA May 12, 2009 Pours a hazy gold, with a very small, slow-forming head. Oh, man does this one smell delicious! A big burst of citrus and piney hops, with buttery caramel malts to counter. Just smells delicious. Flavor is very good too, but doesn’t quite live up to the aroma. Hops are still huge, and alcohol comes through, cutting the malts. It ends up a bit thin, and while the flavor isn’t dilute, it’s a bit watery. For that huge an aroma / flavor combo, I want something a bit thicker and drier. If it had a bit more carbonation, it’d be a wonderfully refreshing brew - but as is, I think I’ll just keep smelling it. lithy (1600), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA May 12, 2009 Rating #1100. Bottle thanks to stefanje. Hazy yellow-orange with two fluffy white fingers and sticky lacing. Spicy pine hop aroma. Taste is apples, crystal malt, spicy hops. A bit on the thin side for the amount of hops. warrenc (21), Oregon, USA May 12, 2009 22 0z. bottle this may be one of my favorite aromas, sweet pine and orange. i poured this beer with all its sediment into my glass so it was cloudy, but a nice gold and white thin head. nice lace. taste is bitter and thick. smoke, complex hops and subtle malt. dry with lingering grapefruit on the tongue. my ’hair of the dog’ journey begins with this i p a ! jgb9348 (2492), Arlington (Pentagon City), Virginia, USA May 10, 2009 Hazy amber coloured body with a thin off-white head. Aroma of strong hops, malt and alcohol. Very full bodied - chewy mouthful; Strong as hell, with alcohol coming through most of all. Very strong hops in the taste with an overly bittered hop flavour and a good malt backbone. Aftertaste bittered from the hops of course. Overall, good throughout and definitely nice to try! I sampled this beer on draught at Henry’s 12th St Tavern in Portland, Oregon on 09-September-2006. baggio (195), norrtälje, Sweden May 8, 2009 Bottled@home
