Lively carbonation; rather refreshing. Tasty caramel and crystal malt sweetness. Super spicy, with elements of sweet grass, spruce tips, citrus and pepper. Nice level of bitterness to boot. Great beer. DuffMan (2769), the land of bitumen, beef & beer, Alberta, Canada
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Jan 19, 2009 Cloudy dirty yellow, thick rocky head of eternal retention that leaves thick creamy lace. Sweet biscuity malt and perfumey fruity hops (passionfruit and lychee come to mind). Creamy, heavy, malty, with abundant deliciously fruity hops. If there is cascade in here, it takes a backseat to some other varieties for a change. Beautifully done. Ibrew2or3 (2766), Safety Harbor, Florida, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Nov 15, 2007 Brew courtesy of fordest. Pours a faintly hazy yellow-ish orange and white head. The aroma is sweet hops from orange juice, orange peel and hard orange candy. The flavor is a smooth progression from tangy orange juice, grapefruit and then orange rind. There’s also a mild sweet sugar maltiness in the background. Seems to be a mix of both hop bitterness and hop flavor. Very tasty. harlequinn (2745), Tacoma, Washington, USA

I think this is one of the hoppiest beers I have ever had the pleasure of parting a lip to. A perfect balance in every way, bitter and sweet and hoppy with an impresive malt backbone that manages to hold everything together. Another amazing beer from Alan. | 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Aug 6, 2006 Cloudy, light orange. Very piney & citrusy aroma, perhaps even a touch of Tang (the Astronaut’s drink) in there. Big hops at first, very little malt presence, it seems. Juicy grapefruit flavors in a slightly thin body (which works in the beer). Maybe some malt flavors at the end. michael-pollack (2728), King of Prussia, Pennsylvania, USA
