Bottle with Zinister. Gig’em, ya dang hippie. Pours a lush, thick cheddar orange with an exquisite aroma of orange, orange peel, and orange pulp. It’s kinda like smelling an orange. Flavor is very floral and a touch sour, but not assertive enough. Palate is average but leans toward the thin side. All in all, a refreshing and light IIPA.

I had this at HotD. Allen’s OBF Friday get together. Holy Sh*t! Hop Monster. Great hop bitterness. If you are one of these Belguim wussies... don’t go here. Golden in color. Bought a whole case to bring back to Atl.

Draught @ Brouwer’s Cafe during Hopfest 2005: Dirty golden, hazy, moderate white foamy white head, wonderful lacing, lively carbonation.   Assertive hop nose, mildly sweet.   Hoppy start, very slight touch of tobacco, with a very soft hop backside.   The 100 IBUs dont seem to translate as being overly hoppy.   Big malt finish, very soft lingering hop that I expected to be a bit bigger.   Certainly good, very palatable, but not as big as I hoped.   Big body, moderate to full mouthfeel.   A bit too dangerous perhaps.

Hazy peach-colored liquid is topped by a fleeting, white head. The aroma whaps you in the sinuses with a huge pineapple and grapefruit hoppiness. Beautiful aroma. The flavor is a bit of a letdown. Not because it’s bad, but because it just ain’t a strong as I expected after that aroma. The flavor is a mild maltiness with a very light bitterness.

Pours with an orange body topped by a very thick, foamy head with some lacing left on the glass. It’s slightly sweet and malty with a nice floral and bitter hop presence with notes of pine, citrus and a hint of spice. Medium bodied and a touch warming.

22 ounce bottle from my Secret Santa. Thanks! Pours a slightly hazy peach color with minimal head. Malty aroma with notes of grain and caramel. Slight floral hop aroma. Grainy and honey sweet malt taste with an earthy, slightly sweet, non-bitter hop presence with caramel notes. Full bodied.

This was a great hopped up IPA. I liked the flavors that the hops where giving and this was not a IPA that was just to show off how much hops one can put in a beer. This had a complex malt character and gave off a great flavor. Great job Alan.

Bottle courtesy of Bu11zeye: Poured a dirty beige color ale with a large foamy head with great retention and good lacing. Aroma of dry and citrus hops with dry malt. Taste is drier then expected with some citrus notes. Malt profile is definitely different then most IIPA which might be due to the usage of rye. Good carbonation with full body which seems to indicated limited filtration and no apparent alcohol. While I appreciated this beer and like how it is trying to do something different (rye) for a style too often populated by clones, I thought it was a bit too dry and lacking some floral notes.
