Rating #1 Tap @ Toronado (6 3 7 3 17). A hazed golden color. Smooth and light on the palate as if it was a cask version (unfiltered). Slightly sweet with a citrus, caramel, and grassy finish. Deseptively strong but goes down very well. Rating #2 Bottle (6 4 7 3 16). A bright golden orange color with rising bubbles and lush thick lasting foam white head. A rather light citrus, yeast, orange, and mild floral aroma. Very smooth and not thick and syrupy like many IIPAs. Rather light in flavor but well balanced and very enjoyable.

Beer #13 RBSG 06. At this point, the sheer amount of good, hard to find stuff that was floating around and being poured had become rather stunning. Light lemon gold, a bit hazy. Pine and grapefruit aroma, spicy hops. Flavor was a combination of biscuit malts loads of spicy, bitter hops on the finish. Not bad, but somehow wanted more. Can’t quite put my finger on it. Perhaps more malt?

On tap at Horse Brass in Portland, OR. 10oz sample. Tons of grapefruity hoppiness present in the nose initially. A little citrus orange as well as some sweet notes. Very aromatic. Murky, hazy, muddy orangey/rusty body with a creamy off-white head. Pretty darn ugly. Sweet, hempy flavors to start with mild bitterness. Some chewiness and sweet malts in the middle. Finishes with some grapefruit and dry bitter notes. Good, decent balance, just ugly as hell.

RBSG 2006 - Grand Tasting. Brassy metallic color with a very clean white head. Nice, fresh aroma of orange citrus, and a welcome buttery malt backing with organic honey tones. Puckering citric and pine hop flavors with a semi-dry and long, bitter finish. A very good 1 1/2 IPA in my book.

Thanks to Skyview for sharing this tasty tasty brew. Well done citrus hop nose. Rich yellow color with faint whit head. Smooth hoppy body that’s a little sweet for the style but exactly what I expect from Hair of the Dog.

Bomber from Liquid Solutions. The aroma is kind of sweet and fruity, not at all what I expected. It only has a light floral hop aroma which makes me think something might be wrong....because it has a massive white head that is a full three fingers thick and very Belgian looking, comprised mostly of very small fine bubbles. The body is the gold/yellow color of a Belgian Tripel. <P> The flavor is floral, herbal and bitter in the fore and segues into apple and pear fruit notes with just a hint of yeasty bannana. This really doesn’t taste like any Double IPA I have had except that it is obviously heavily hopped. It does taste a lot like the CHouffe Tripel though. Is this standard? I actually enjoy this, but then I’m not a mega hop head.....hop heads might be a little irked by calling this a DIPA.

Bottled. Golden and orange coloured - a bit murkey - small head. A bit sharp and slightly sour. Notes of citric and yeasts. Too high carbonated and kinda dry.
