Feb 16, 2008 Deep blond color, huge foam, persistent perlage. The aroma is hoppy, dry, resiny, with some malt mellow note. Medium body strength, almost all the flavor comes from the hops; some malt is noticeable later, but the hop oils win all. I’m surprised by the big quantity of yeast in the bottle, that spoils a bit the taste of the last glass. Unbalanced.

Feb 10, 2008 Hazy golden with large head. Hoppy aroma with fruity notes. Very hoppy flavor with fruity notes, grapefruit being dominant. Finishes bitter.

May 21, 2006 (22oz bottle, thanks Goldtwins) Cloudy apple juice body with medium white head. Aroma is medium sweet, pine/grapefruit, some orange. Taste is medium sweet, grapefruit, grassy, sharp bitterness. Chewy medium-full body. Malt? We don’t need no stinkin’ malt!

Nov 1, 2006 Bottle from Belmont Station, Portland. Cloudy pale gold. Astringent hop aroma. Extreme hop. Body is quite full due to sedimented yeast. Astringent hot hop aroma. Overly carbonated. Herby. Good quality in mouth though and then astringent acidic hop finish. Intense. Very intense. Citrus fruits are lemony grapefruit with a nice alcohol faint sweetness. Dries the mouth. Herbry astringent hop is done very very well.

Feb 10, 2007 It’s with excitement that I open this, my first Hair of the Dog.... It has a lot of sediment, it’s hazy and warm golden. The head is huge, white and creamy. The aroma is wonderfully hopped and spicy. The flavour has nice notes of resin, hops, fruit, citrus (mostly grape fruit) and the hop-bite makes the taste buds shrink in joy, but 2 years ago I would have found this one terribly bitter. It’s a really nice double IPA, and it was nice together with fat foods... 1845

Jan 12, 2007 Bottle. Hazy golden colour, bubbly average head. Very hoppy and fruity aroma, bit sourness, some sweetness. Flavour is a bit sweet, very hoppy, yeasty and with a touch spicy. Dry and sour finish, bit sweetness.

Apr 9, 2007 Large painted bottle. Orange blonde color. Lemongrass aroma. A sharp and firm hopbitterness with loads of grapefruit and grassy herbal hops. Medium bodied. Very long earthy citric hopbitter aftertaste. A very intense beer. I really liked it.

Jan 29, 2007 Bottle. A hazy yellow beer with a big off-white head. The aroma is of caramel malt and dry grass, pine and grape. The taste is also Caramel malt, grass, pine and citrus in a medium body with a very long bitter dry finish.
