| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Aug 3, 2006 Soft hazed gold, thin foamy white head. Nose was not exactly what I expected with interesting tones of floral perfume, peach, light pine and spruce, with a faint hint of tangerine. Well thats kind of different. Good bitter bite up front with more florals, pine resin, and citrusy notes that are everlasting throughout. Not much malt to speak of, but typically it works for me as it does here. Lighter side of medium bodied, fizzy carbonation, dry, bitter finish. Solid, but nothing beats Fred or Adam in my book... fordest (1954), Santee/San Diego, California, USA

Hazy dark orange color with nice aromas with hints of fruit for the most part. Apricot and some mango. Flavors were similar with the bitterness going over to the the grassy stuff. Pretty good. phishpond417 (1953), Madison, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Nov 13, 2009 As typical Hair of the Dog fashion goes, every style which is anticipated (by me at least) to be a killer West Coast hop bomb, ends up being a mellow fellow of a beer. Something fresh and fine with pine notes and citrus fruits. But wicked creamy in the mouthfeel. im expecting something firm and astringent, but it suprisngly ends up being way more chill then i thought. AmEricanbrew (1946), orange, California, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | May 15, 2008 Hazy amber with a thin head. Nice but fairly mild piney hop aroma with some sweet dark bread malts. Medium body and smooth with light carbonation. Big hop juice flavors are grapefruit and pine sap bittersweet, not much malt flavor here. Has a lingering bitter finish. Have to try a fresh bottle this fall. ABUSEDGOAT (1934), California, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jul 19, 2006 Thanks to my dad for this one. Cloudy orange body, moderate sized head, decent lacing. Aroma is the usual PNW goods... grapefruit, pine, citrus. Flavor was dominatd by citrus, which might be a first. Medium bodied, could use a bigger malt backbone but was still balanced. I don’t know where 100 IBUs came from. Other than the somewhat watery feel, balance was excellent. This hit the spot after a long day. MrRomero (1934), Nolanville, Texas, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Sep 24, 2006 22 oz bottle courtesy of Brock_Landers: John also had this beer on the way to the FSU-Rice game. Poured yellow-orange with a large white head. The aroma to me reminded me of a Hefeweizen. It even looks hefeweizenish. The hops are present but also noticed notes of banana. Maybe from the yeast? Not what I would classify as a double IPA. Moderate hopping and not real malty. Still a nice beer with a different twist to it from the everyday IIPA’s. Shag (1923), Chattanooga, Tennessee, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Oct 4, 2006 A golden appearance with a moderate head. A citrus and perfume aroma. The flavor contains some lemons, honey, and orange peel. Not as bitter as I would expect but a good effort nonetheless.
