Rating #1100. Bottle thanks to stefanje. Hazy yellow-orange with two fluffy white fingers and sticky lacing. Spicy pine hop aroma. Taste is apples, crystal malt, spicy hops. A bit on the thin side for the amount of hops.

I was having a shitty day, and the box from Ross arrives. Needless to say, seeing this beer cheered me up and this baby went into the fridge PRONTO. Pours hazy golden orange with a small white head, and very large lively carbonation. Sort of looks like a fizzy witbier. Strong grapefruity hop aroma , along with some of wheat and bubblegum. Nicely balanced flavors here of pale malts and hops. Has an earthiness to it with a wide variety of citrus flavor. Finishes very dry, grassy, with and aggressive but pleasant lingering bitterness. Not resiny, sticky, or thick like some IIPA’s, which I can appreciate and thus makes this very easy to drink...mine was gone in no time! Perhaps there are some belgian qualities on this one. This is unique, like all of Alan’s other beers. Thanks a million Ross. You are not a-hole after all.

Rating from memory. 22oz from LennyH - thanks! One of the more dry and crisp, grapefruity of all PNW IIPAs, Blue Dot was something else. A hugely lively body, with the bitter piney hops blending nicely with a touch of breadiness and sticky malt. Wonderfully done and on a par with the best of the style.

Blind rating at sk8viking´s. Pours a hazy golden with a white head. Bitter Smells slightly of grape fruit. Fruity hopsprofile. Gunsmoke burps(?). Medium to low carbonation. Full bodied. Long bitter finish. A bit too bitter.

Tap at Horse Brass. Hazy yellow color, damn near Hefeweizen in cloudiness. Apparently freshly tapped from an agitated keg. Super hopped grapefruit aroma. Nicely balanced with the hop bitterness winning out. Yeasty. Intense grapefruit flavor and aroma. Nice! <P> Bottle purchased in October ’06, opened Nov. ’06. Both bottles I tried were gushers, bandaid aromas in both. Drainpour X2. Rating remains from tap version.

22 ounce bottle served in a Duvel tulip. Dark golden with a huge billowing white head. The aroma is pine needles, lemony dish soap, powdered sugar. The flavor passes everything and goes straight to a rough bitter finish. Medium body with quite a bit of carbonation. Not all that imperial.

22oz bomber. Hazy and golden orange. Moldy off-white head. Total lemon and pine nose. Sugary, almost jelly aromas. Amazing nose. Medium to full bodied with great complexity. Initial yeasty citrus tone. Great lingering bitternes. Bubblegum note. Nice palate. Touch grapefruit. Easy but with big edges. The bitterness and tingling hop crisp roll out the finish.
