22 oz bottle from beastiefan2k. Fall 2007 on the label. Pour is a very hazy cloudy golden orange. Looks like juice, almost. A nice two inch white head tops the beer, and has decent retention. Aroma of orange citrus hops and clean pine. Nice nose. Taste is very floral, orange citrus, delicate and soft. The finish has some fairly sharp grapefruit bitterness. Also a bit of rye bite. Body is very light, and mouth drying. Super drinkable, snappy, and well done. Really great balance and approachability. I just love this brewery. Thanks for this very generous bonus Eugene!

22oz Bottle Pours out a Yellow haze like a HEF Topped with a white head. There is a odd Belg Aroma. The Over all odd but good. I later had it On Tap at Hair of the Dog Brewing Company. It was even better on tap.

Bomber: Large offwhite head, retention is good with lacing that starts out thick and coating but ends up spotty and scattered. Pale gold appearence is moderately hazy. Spicey hop nose with some funky notes, lightly earthy and fruity. Body is medium, palate is neat with a soft carbonation that gets a bit aggressive followed by a tart creaminess. Flavors of citrus and pineapple, rye spiceyness, earthy notes, grapefruit and lightly doughy. Finish is dry, fruity, good hop bite. Props to EDA for this very cool brew. Thanks Mike!

To me, a double IPA should be all about the hops. Hops, hops and more hops. Balance? To hell with the balance. While this beer is decent, it was a disappointment since I’ve really thought highly of all the other HotD products. The nose has a decent citrus and floral aroma, but nothing to make you pick you face out of the glass and go HEY! The taste is piney but very subdued as is the citrus hops. The beer hides the alcohol very well, do the drinkability of this beer is very high. Overall, I didn’t find much to get excited about.

From a 22 oz bottle this poured a cloudy orange with small white head and heavy lacing. Nose of citrus hops and light malts. Medium but smooth mouthfeel. Favor of citrus hops with some pine, fruit, and flowers. Very long dry bitter finish.

22 oz bottle thanks to Jeremy, Spring 2009 edition, thanks man! Pours a copper color with a small bubbly white head. The aroma is excellent; loads of fruity hops, apricot, pine, citrus and lots of full hop notes. The flavor is also dominated by the hops; citrus, grapefruits, zesty bitterness, some light pine as well. The malt does balance it out some, especially because the hops are somehow not that aggressive, a noticeable grain or rye flavor. Very nice. I could drink this anytime and everyday. Somehow mellow and yet bursting with flavor and freshness.

Cloudy orange-amber color with a light off-white head. Aroma dominated by citrus with some light maltiness. Flavor is overwehlmingly grapefruit-citrus with a decent bit o bitterness. Malts are pretty well done with a rather fresh and sweet flavor to it. Smooth and tingly feel and a nice finish. Not amazing, but pretty darn good and goes well with most foods.
