The aroma is lots of hops, a bit of malt, pine and grapefruit peel. Flavor is very grapefruity with grapefruit peel and pine on the finish. Seriously delicious IIPA. piscator34 (1134), Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada

Clear orange in colour with lots of carbonation. Aromatics are a mixture of citric and grassy hops, black pepper, and wild yeast. Flavor wise, it’s an odd mix of sharp citrus, flat caramel, dried fruit, and earthy wild yeast elements. I’m not sure if the infection element of this beer is intentional or not. It’s definitely different, but I still couldn’t finish my half pint of it. kyzr (1127), Belgrade, Montana, USA

Flavor was big and hoppy, then it just flowed into an alcohol finish. It takes a few oz to mellow out, but it really grows on you. NobleSquirrel (1121), Chicago, Illinois, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jan 26, 2009 Fall 2008 Bomber via trade with stefanje. Pours a light amber with white frothy head. Nose is slightly yeasty/spicy (probably the rye), grapefruit and pine and light doughy sweet notes. Taste has distinct rye beer qualities of a slippery body that feels a touch thin, nice spiciness that almost overshadows the hops. Clean and crisp bitterness. As far as IIPAs go, this isn’t top tier, but throw in the rye aspect and you get a very interesting beer. Pretty cool beer and definitely glad I got to try it. Nice. Extremely fragrant with grapefruit juice, lemon zest, and orange peel on the nose. Beautifully balanced brew with the hops offset by just enough malty sweetness. Caramel, toffee, and a little vanilla are there. Have truly enjoyed EVERYTHING from this brewer. Anyone have a bottle of Dave to spare??? doubleo (1121), San Diego, California, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Feb 23, 2008 22oz gusher, I mean bomber... I got my first glass poured okay but after that, lots of foam. Pours a hazy orange/yellow color with a frothy but fizzywhite head that leaves a good amount of lace. Smells spicy hoppy and crisp malty, not overwhelming. Tastes sweet hoppy and then spicy hoppy through the middle to the finish. Full body with vibrant carbonation. Not impressive. Tastes the same as all of their other overcarbonated, yellow/orange brews... ditmier (1117), Boise, Idaho, USA

Floral hops, fresh as your virgin sister, fill the nostrils. A thing to behold. Flavor is sexy as hell. Hops and hops, but very thin at the same time. Surprisingly thin. A definitely superior DIPA.
