Good lacing. Soapy pine aroma, fresh-cut lemongrass, and the smell of wet wood. Passionfruit and mango in terms of hoppiness in the nose. Bitter, sharp hop bite in the taste. Lots of melon and mango with a pepper snap. Soapy up front with the resin, with the flavor of earthy and wet hops. More malt and sweetness as the beer progressed. Easily drinkable with a hearty mouthfeel. Far different from most West Coast IIPA’s, more bitterness reminiscent of an English IPA, but mixed well with the citrus hops.

A fuzzy wisp of a frothy white head sticks around, and leaves behind very little lacing. Aroma is of astringent hops and succulent citrus. Very good, but not as powerful as expected. Flavor is sinuous grapefruit, laced with bleeding hops and a dash of faint pine. Bitter, oily mouthfeel. But very easy to drink. Good beer. jah noth (1017), Rochester, New York, USA
| 4.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 10/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Jun 23, 2006 A hop lover’s dream! Pours a cloudy apricot in color with a nice white head. Citric nose all the way. Incredibly juicy orange flavor - like a hop explosion. Rich and creamy mouthfeel with some aspirin at the finish (the only negative). Very tasty. Thanks Jamie! pnista (1008), Bloomington, Indiana, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Apr 8, 2008 On tap at Henry’s Tavern. Pours a lightly hazed goldn yellow with a decent enough dense enough cream colored head. The nose is full of fruity hops. Bitter, so sure, but more so, flavorful. Strong ass bite, but the sweetness and alcohol to support it. Creamy on the tongue. Light carbonation. The flavor is in the line with the nose. As it warms, the creaminess drops out a bit, but it’s still lovely. Mainly, the beer goes from malt heavier and fruity to lighter and broader hop flavors. Really enjoyable. I couldn’t taste the rye, and this is kind of low ABV for an IIPA, but it’s delicious, so who cares? erway (1002), Albuquerque, New Mexico, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jul 23, 2006 Pours a cloudy orangeish golden with a frothy white lasting head. Aroma is hugely citrus, I mean huge, with a nice earthiness in there too. The body is med and perfect. The flavors are piney, huge citrus, juicy with a sort of kitchen sink hop character. Finish is wicked dry, almost punishingly bitter...I love it! Beardface (1001), Eugene, Oregon, USA

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | May 30, 2006 On draft, this was much more subdued than I would have expected. Its appearance was hazy, and somehow, hazy was the overall impression I formed of its flavor. A murky, muddled mix of PNW hops and light malt. Good, but it failed to present a distinct flavor which I could hang on to.
