Aroma is citrus/fruity hops. Taste is maltier then I expected. Not that biitter compared to most DIPA’s. I would not guess 100 IBU’s. Lots of grapefruit. Smooth and tasty just different. Low carbonation and medium texture. Good brew just not great. Thanks E! Naven (881), Poway, California, USA

I think I would just like to incorporate the last rating (Stoutlover72) as my own. Found this beer to be boring, bland, and kinda gross. We all kind of thought it tasted like a mediocore homebrew. Kind of dry, medicinal, and astringent. I thought it needed more sweetnes. An otherwise good brewery. glennmastrange (868), hobe sound, Florida, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Dec 27, 2007 Bottle. Aromas of light caramel, nuttiness like lychee, and roasted for the malt, heavy smells of flowers, pine and grapefruit for the hops, light leather for the yeast, and wood, pepper and fruit punch in the background. Head is small, bubbly, white, with good lacing and is mostly diminishing. Color is murky amber. Flavor starts lightly acidic, and the long finish is lightly acidic and heavily bitter. Palate is medium bodied, between watery and oily, and the carbonation is soft, almost flat. It finishes moderately astringent. This one is all about hops. Flavor is a little out of balance, but I love the aroma of this beer. Complex, fruity and unique. mgermani (865), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 10/10 | 3/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Sep 25, 2009 Pours a dusty dull copper-orange with a thin layer of foam, and spider-webs of lacing. Aroma is very, very enticing - fresh from the cask kind of enticing. Fresh strong grapefruit & spruce, almost medicinal, but pleasantly sweet as well. Yum! Tastes fantastic - really tastes like it is fresh off gravity, light carbonation seems to reinforce this impression. Yum yum yum! Rye malt really shines here with sweet pine sap flavours when combined with the hops. This is dangerously drinkable! Lightly creamy at the sip (or gulp!) and crisp on the finish. It is a crying shame this is not available yet in Canada. CheersMate1 (864), Atlanta, Georgia, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 3/5 | 18/20 | Aug 11, 2009 Ah...yet another Hair of the Dog today. I must have set a record. I tried this on tap at the brewery, but I also had the impetus to purchase two of these bottles, one of which I am trying the other of which I might save. 22 oz. bottles. Haze orange/brown hue/caramel color; not very much of a head, but still a very good looking beer. Such a wonderful citurs/pine hop aroma that is insane. I heard this was more hoppy than malty, but that is B.S. There are plenty of hops in this; especially in the aroma. This has a great smell. Nice hop flavor. Very nice citrus hop aroma. The bittering hop lingers. This beer is a big bitter beer that starts to turn into a sweet citrus flavor. Such a fresh hop profile that one can’t ignore the use of these amazing hops. Fairly smooth beer, but not overly so. Overall, damn good beer! sheatripper (863), Brooklyn, New York, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Dec 2, 2007 Bomber. Murky orange/brown pour witha small spitty head. Kind of ugly actually. Initial aroma of bright peach and floral hops, which becomes grassier after a bit. Tannic, tea-like leafy hop flavor, with grapefruit and trailing medicinal notes. Slight carbonation. The basic components are all there, but this one just seems muddled. Kind of disappointing by 2IPA standards, let alone HOTD standards. cab (863), Denmark

| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Aug 19, 2006 Bomber ocurtesy of Dubbercody, thanks again Jaime! Pours a hazy golden color with a yellow-light cream colored head that dissapates quickly to a film. Super fresh aroma, mass amounts of citrus complimented with some light pine, candied fruit and a bit of black pepper. Bitter and dry flavor: grapefruit, lemon zest, belgian yeast, pepper, and some very light and dry malt. Sturdy body with a fairly delicate mouthfeel and a lively carbonation that isn’t overkill. Overall, a fresh, floral IIPA that resides more on the dry end than the sticky and sweet side...a nice take on the style.
