| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | May 27, 2008 Bottle acquired at the PP Bottle Shop. Shared with family and friends during a nice Memorial Day barbecue. Hazy amber color, fast-fading head and medium carbonation. Saucy hop aroma with light orange peel, ginger and grapefruit. Pleasant flavor profile with lots of pine needle and rye malt underneath. Finishes with short bitterness and it has a lighter body and alcohol tone than I expected for a DIPA. Not bad at all. craftbeerdesign (767), Alpharetta, Georgia, USA

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Sep 27, 2006 Damn...haven’t rated this yet. Drank some more with MrRomero....good stuff, but like he said...this doesn’t fall within the usual Double IPA realm. Great hazy dull yellow pour...funky hop nose...mild malts plus a ton of hefe-yeastiness. Nice turn on the style, but not my favorite. mreusch (743), Olathe, Kansas, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | May 16, 2007 Bomber, pours a cloudy golden with a thin white head that disappears quickly, minimal lacing. Strong aroma of grapefruit, citrus, and some subtle pine and caramel. Taste is a hit of hops with more of the same, and malts kick in quickly to tame the hops bite on the backend. Palate is lighter and smooth, with a somewhat abrupt finish. This is a very light and drinkable IIPA; not heavy at all, which is a diversion from many others in this style. Good stuff! jhumphries69 (736), Tyrone, Georgia, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Dec 7, 2008 22oz bomber. Pours a very nice, deep gold with subtle orange and a very slight haze. It also has a medium-sized white head that fades quickly but leaves nice swaths of lace on the glass as it goes down. The aroma is beautiful:earthy and citrusy - hint of pine, too - and some honey. It has a touch of rye I think in there, and lots of sweet honey. Nectar to the nose. The flavor is awesome - thick and hoppy with a delectable malt sweetness, some light breadiness - like honey-glazed croissants. The hoppiness is spicy and citrusy - a touch of bitter grapefruit rind. There is some earthiness in there, and I think I can detect some rye flavors, too - though admittedly light. At mid-tongue, the hops dominate - resiny and bitter with loads of fruity, citrusy, spicy hops. There is a nice level of fruity esters and crystal malt sweetness, too, that really balance the immense hops just right. The finish is full and sweet and dried out just a little bit by the big bitterness. The warming alcohol is subtle and nicely hidden. The aftertaste is surprisingly bready and toasty with a resiny pine hoppiness. After about 10oz, an leathery earthiness in the bitterness grows, and the bitter taste of ethanol shows itself a little in the finish. The mouthfeel is vigorously carbonated, but not over-the-top or spritzy. It lends a restrained carbonation sting to the tongue and helps lighten the beers big, chewy, full body. Overall, a very nicely made IIPA. Its strength is more like American IPA than double IPA, but the thick body and double-load of hops do manage to push it into Imperial land. fiver29 (732), Cleveland, Ohio, USA

Pours orange color with a off white head. Has a lot of floaters and I love that in this style. Has a nice citrus aroma with some strong malt mixed in. Taste is full on hops, citrus and grass combo, with a finish that has a twang on my taste buds. Overall this is a nice brew and one I am pleased to try. It has the hops I come to expect. This bottle has a little more malt twang on the backside than I prefer and may be due to a bottle that was brewed last fall. I may try to revisit a fresh one some day.
