Bottle@Home. Very fruity aroma, pineapple, peach, grapefruit and grassy when warming up. Dark yellow/golden color, off-white head, good lace. Sweet, bitter, fruity, grapefruit, grassy, paracetamol in the finish. Light sticky, light dry finish. Very typical flavor.

RBSG 2006 - DC Grand Tasting Lineup HAzy orange, nice head and lacing. Nose of citrusy and chewy hops. Lightly musky with a lack of floral notes. The flavor is nice, sweet candy, chewy hop oil and a nice cherry/coconut taste in the tail. Finishes creamy, sweet, good. Could use some more work in the nose.

Bottle 2007 from freinds at the Dilly Deli. Poured a hazy golden color with an average frothy white head that lasted with good lacing. Heavy complex citrus and resin hoppy aroma with a small alcohol tone. Medium body with a smooth slick texture. Heavy bitter flavor with a medium bittersweet and small alcohol bite finish of moderate duration. This is a standout beer.

Bottle. Pours a hazy golden color with a longlasting white head. Sweet malty hoppy aroma with hints of citrus. Sweet malty hoppy bitter flavor with some hints of citrus. Dry bitter finish with some burning hoppy citrus in the aftertaste.

Big thanks to Brock_Landers for this one. Pours turbid urangy dark straw with 2-finger off-white head. Complex aroma of funky grassy malt, hopcitrus, fruit, and earthiness. The palate is complex and dense, lively, and lovely, providing flavors of funky Bretty earthy malt, sticky piney hops, citrus, apricotty fruit, and a heafty dose of spiciness. Is it unique and perhaps off-kilter stylistically? Hell yes. Is it delicious and a beer you’d kick your mother to the curb for? Again, hell yes!

Hazy orange with a huge and solid white head. Aroma of leather, hay, citrus, grapefruit. Sweet at first until a big grapefruit bitterness sets in. Though it has a fair amount of bitterness it wasn’t the hop explosion I had hoped for.

Bottle. Head is initially average sized, frothy, white, mostly lasting. Body is hazy medium yellow. Aroma is lightly to moderately malty (toasted grain), moderately hoppy (grapefruit, lemon/orange, herbs), lightly yeasty (dough), with a note of medicine. Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly to moderately acidic, lightly to moderately bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, lightly to moderately acidic, moderately to heavily bitter. Medium body, velvety texture, lively carbonation, lightly alcoholic. Me like, surprisingly. It’s kind of like Ruth times 4 or whatever...very clean bitterness without the abrasive, tongue-scraping qualities of a typical west-coast IPA. Likewise in the hop aroma, it’s fruity/citrusy without being overly green, pungent, and resinous. Slightly phenolic (kinda cool), slightly yeasty (eh).
