| 4.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 19/20 | Nov 18, 2008 Bottle, fall 2007. Aroma of delectable grapefruit and the freshest green melon scent I’ve ever smelled, from beer or fruit. Huge rich rye and caramel malt there in perfect balance, and by balance I mean that both the hoppy and malty aspects shine in bursting glory without subduing each other. Flavor is the same, and that is a very good thing. Not a hint of astringency, mouthfeel both incredibly rich from the malt and airy and juicy from the hops. Fantastic. jah noth (1015), Rochester, New York, USA

Citric nose all the way. Incredibly juicy orange flavor - like a hop explosion. Rich and creamy mouthfeel with some aspirin at the finish (the only negative). Very tasty. Thanks Jamie! mkobes (2104), paramus, New Jersey, USA

Apricot and pineapple. Hoppy flavor. Citrusy hops. Not too sweet. Finish is dry. Medium bodied. Well balanced. Smooth. Very nice beer. ross (1709), weddington, South Carolina, USA
| 4.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 3/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 19/20 | Jul 26, 2006 2006 Bottle from Chris (chriso420) Thanks man! THIS is what a double IPA should be. Pours out a clouded yellow color with a creamy white head. Smell is hops, pine, grapefruit, and spices. Taste is similar, bitter and malty and exceptionally well balanced. Sure its low ABV for a double IPA, but who really cares? This IPA is up there with Dreadnaught without the massive bitterness. Very nicely balanced, very easy to drink, and just great in general. Thanks chris for sending, and thanks Alan for brewing this great beer. Glad I have another one of these. Fucking Fantastic. DocLock (4648), Lower Pottsgrove, Pennsylvania, USA
| 4.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 10/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Sep 25, 2006 Big thanks to Brock_Landers for this one. Pours turbid urangy dark straw with 2-finger off-white head. Complex aroma of funky grassy malt, hopcitrus, fruit, and earthiness. The palate is complex and dense, lively, and lovely, providing flavors of funky Bretty earthy malt, sticky piney hops, citrus, apricotty fruit, and a heafty dose of spiciness. Is it unique and perhaps off-kilter stylistically? Hell yes. Is it delicious and a beer you’d kick your mother to the curb for? Again, hell yes!
