This beer is a hazy yellow-orange color with a medium thick and fluffy eggshell white head. Rings of lacing on the glass. The aroma is citrusy and piney hops with malt undertones. Medium body with piney hops at the forefront and notes of grapefruit and sweet malt. The finish is moderately bitter hops with a lingering bitterness. Good all around. cathcacr (592), Portland, Oregon, USA

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 18/20 | Sep 6, 2006 sampled back to back with Freak Out. Both highly commended, recommended and left me needing to be mended (after the rest of the beers that night). So, who was Dot? IS she old and with blue hair? Will Alan ever make an Alan? Will I ver make a comment worthy of a true rating? This was bitter. I made "bitter face" my friends laughed so hard they spit beer at me then kicked me in the face and took my money. Are you happy now?

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Aug 15, 2006 Updated: Mar 22, 2008Sampled at RBSG 2006- Grand Tasting. Pours a hazy butterscotch candy color. Fine aroma of pineapple and citrus. Has a distinct juniper taste with a luau finish. This must be a fairly low pH beer. Lots of tartness to the mouth. This beer could be used for aroma therapy. UPDATE 3/2008: In the bomber bottle from John’s Market in Portland. Intense citrus and pine tar aroma. Delicious fruity and citrus flavors. A bargain beer for $5. 0o9i (338), Reno, Nevada, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Nov 2, 2008 22oz bottle. Cloudy, orange-zesty looking liquid you might expect to be an unfiltered weissbier of some sort and it’s topped with a small white head that turns into a ring, but laces nicely in rings and webs. Aroma is like a bouquet of citrus fruit and flowers with honey in a bowl of fresh-cut pine. Mouth is fullish and flatish, with just enough coarse bubbles. A bit syrupy. Rye and lots of hops help dry it out some. Flavor is heavily floral and pine with grapefruit juice, rye, orange zest. Finish is woody pine, rye, grapefruit rind, underlain with caramel, long-lasting. Very citrusy and easy to drink. Unconventional. jimmack (1221), Nutley, New Jersey, USA

Aroma of citrus and piney hops, some caramel malts and a touch of peach/apricot. Nicely balanced flavor that had a good deal of malt sweetness before ending with a great grapefruity, bitter finish. 11026 (1772), Alabama, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Apr 30, 2005 Updated: Nov 22, 2006Tap at Horse Brass. Hazy yellow color, damn near Hefeweizen in cloudiness. Apparently freshly tapped from an agitated keg. Super hopped grapefruit aroma. Nicely balanced with the hop bitterness winning out. Yeasty. Intense grapefruit flavor and aroma. Nice! <P> Bottle purchased in October ’06, opened Nov. ’06. Both bottles I tried were gushers, bandaid aromas in both. Drainpour X2. Rating remains from tap version.
