I was dissappointed with this Imperial IPA, however, I have higher expectations from this brewery. DYCsoccer17 sums it up very well, this beer is ’ugly as hell’. It is very murky and pours the same color as pee and it had very low carbonation. But, it does have a sweet aroma with scents of citrus. It does not taste like an Imperial, but it does have a nice flavor of grapefruit, orange, and a nice balance of sweetness. There are better Imperial IPA’s but I will purchase again.

22 oz. Bomber served in a pint glass. The aroma is everything you could want from an IIPA. Huge piney, citrusy, grapefruit smells hit you immediately, and stay throughout the entire time you drink this beer. The only downfall I could find with this beer is that it seemed a little overly bitter in the back end of the taste, almost a small hint of an aspirin like favor at the very end. I think they prolly could have used a little more malt, bump up the ABV. a little more and then they would have a top notch beer. In the end it is still very good, and another great beer from HOTD.

Bottle. Hazy golden-cider pour with a soapy white head - great retention. Awesome aroma - hops, citrus, pears, sweet apples, simple syrup. Flavor is a bit of a let down but still not bad. Finish is decent. Above average.

Bottle. ( Thanks Marsiblursi ! ) Hazy orange with a thin white head. Fruity and malty with lots of citrus tones. Full body with a very nice bitter finish.

Thanks to Brian for this one. Very cloudy pale orange body with moderate fluffy white head. Citrus sweet aroma of grapefruit, flowery hops, and subtle brown sugar. Light lemony sweetness in the flavor, also a dry hoppy bitterness persists. Dry light body with a clean finish.

Exploded out of the bottle when opened. Vey cloudy yellow color. It really looks like a wheat beer. Nice 1 finger thick head that lasted all the way down. Good lacing too. A pretty beer. Strong grapefruit in the aroma with a little pine. It smells chalky and gritty, if there is a way to smell that. Flavor is more towards the piney side than grapefruit, but there is still a little fruit in here. Accompanying the grapefruit some tropical fruit and maybe some peaches, oranges, and tangerines. It is almost chewy. Very chalky with good lingering bitterness, but some sweetness too. A pretty good IIPA.

Hazy golden with large head. Hoppy aroma with fruity notes. Very hoppy flavor with fruity notes, grapefruit being dominant. Finishes bitter.

22 OZ Bottle via Liquid Solutions. Pours a hazy yellowish gold color. Large dense white head. Very mild plesant fruity aroma with notes of strawberry, peach and grapefruit with some fresh bread, pine, and alcohol in the background. I hope is tastes like it smells. Wow, this is unique.Sort of like an Imperial German Hefeweizen if there were such a thing. This is not like any Imperial IPA i have tasted..it is good though and somehow it works as i cannot stop drinking it, and the alcohol is completely hidden, but is only 7%? Pretty low for an Double IPA...... Medium bodied. My only gripe is it is over-carbonated, but that is my gripe with a lot of stuff these day, so no biggie.... Now i have never had an ENGLISH style Imperial IPA, but I imagine that this is what a good one would taste like being so hoppy but not bitter in the least. Great refreshing summer beer. Gotta get more!
