Pours a cloudy golden yellow hue with a light- frothy white head. aromas of pine, citrus, floral, and some grassy grapefruit. Mouth feel medium bodied. Flavors almost belgian-esque. While hoppy and flavors similar to the aroma, it has a slight funk not unlike some Belgian golden and an effervescence that follows the trend as well. A lingering finish and only gets longer as it warms. A refreshing take on style in which flavors rarely stray from the norm 8/5/7/4/15 3.8 Rerate--1/14/2008---wow..... I may have been a little disappointed that the alcohol was a little light for a double IPA, but this years batch is awesome. This is the quintessential IPA that both coasts should strive for. The appearance is a lot better than I remember it with a nice frothy head and nice golden amber hue. The same with the flavor and the palate. The balance between hop bitterness and malt sweetness is in perfect balance.... mmmm..... michael-pollack (2707), King of Prussia, Pennsylvania, USA

Bottle: Aroma of hops, pine, slight toasting, light citrus, light lychee, some grapefruit. Poured amber in color with a small, creamy, dense, head that lasted throughout. Cloudy. Sparkling. Full of tiny, small, and large-sized particles throughout. Excellent lacing. Flavor is heavily bitter and lightly sweet. Tastes of hops, pine, grapefruit, lychee, resin, and light caramel malt. Medium body. Dry texture. Average carbonation. Hops, pine, lychee, and slight caramel malt finish is bitter and dry. A delicious IIPA. ElGaucho (1730), Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA

Dry, citrus aroma with some sour notes and hints of Belgian yeast. Murky, light orange body with a large, frothy, small bubble white head. Belgian qualities. Fairly heavily carbonated. Sweet, not overly hoppy in a west coast sense. Different. Not a knock you over the head hop monster. Very nice. notalush (2675), Denver, Colorado, USA

More of the same in the flavor, but despite it being very hop strong, it seems quite well balanced with malt. Lots of carbonation. LiebeBier (793), Annapolis, Maryland, USA
